This is just me tooting my own horn a bit; please skip if you don't want to witness autofellatio. But I can only think of one person that I both know and would share this with in real life, so I will instead take up a bit of space here.

I submitted two stories today. In total, I've submitted 21 stories in just under two months, one of which was rejected and which I'm reworking for the Hammered event. I also have a little 750 word story queued up for, well, the 750 Word event. All of them except the first two were written in those two months, and those two were written in about a week and a half beforehand. Altogether, the stories total about 241K words.

I have to say, this has been one of the most gratifying experiences I've had in a long while. Most folks have been super nice, both the other writers and the readers. Even the readers that weren't nice were mostly either helpful, funny, or deeply stupid, and each of those is fun in their own way. I've picked up just barely over 1,000 followers; I have no idea what the "standard" is there, but it feels nice.

Not much else to say. Just wanted to share with y'all, because the give and take is something that's been the most fun for me. Thanks everyone!

That's it? Jeez, what a slacker.

Just kidding, good for you. As long as this is just flowing naturally it's great, but if you start to slow up, don't force it just go with the pace of your muse.

Oh, god no. I'm going to be taking a break for a week or so. I just kind of wanted to get these last two in for a nice round number, and one of them is my Pink Orchid submission.

Jeez. If you put a little effort into it, you might actually accomplish something.

Seriously, that's impressive. That many stories in only your first two months. And 1,000 followers in that time is extremely impressive -- especially since you've only written one incest story!

It took me over a year to get 1000 followers, and I wrote a bunch of very popular incest stories in my first year.

Congrats.

So, 241k words in two months - that's something like 4,000 words a day. From my perspective that means you've had about sixty exceptional working days in a row. I think you're burying the lede though - the real achievement is probably getting 5 H's in the Loving Wives category alone. When I've got time, I'll have to go back and see how you pulled that off.

My repressed upbringing only allows me to talk proudly of my work ethic, not results. ;) That would be a sin! Now, can I interest you in some brother/sister incest stories?

If we don't toot our own horns, who will?

I've been at this about a year and a half now, 48 stories published (many of them from one continued series) and 515 followers.

Not bad, I suppose, but not nearly as impressive as your numbers lol.

Your stories are great, so it's well deserved.

That's very impressive. I've been writing here about the same amount of time but I'm at four stories at 68k words. And another 15k words in the works. Well done.

I've only read your Valentine's Day story so far, but I look forward to hitting the others soon. As others have mentioned, the diversity of categories that you have published in, and the consistency of the results is noteworthy. Congrats

Honestly, I think your stuff is great, and the folks that read it agree. You should definitely have way more followers.

You're putting out long, high quality works each time, though. And the only reason I was able to churn out so much stuff was a perfect storm of minimal work responsibilities, time off due to the holidays, and ADHD screaming, "This! You're going to do this!" It hasn't stopped screaming yet, but I'm going to try to shove it into its box for just a little bit.

There is that one story idea, though...

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest. I'm hoping to have a story published (and hopefully with a scarlet H) in twelve categories by the end of the year. I need either 8 or 9 more categories to do that (8 for just having one, 9 for having an H), but I have seeds/basic plots for all of them.

Wow! All of those accomplishments are impressive! You are definitely an outlier when it comes to accomplishing so much in such a short period of time. I've made it a personal goal to reach the 250 most followed author list which requires just north of 2500 followers. At nearly 1900 I have a ways to go and based on your pace, I'm gonna be chasing at least one more authors jet-wash on my way there! Congrats!

LW though, it's a follower fest too.

Keep cranking the handle on the machine. Nice work.

And yes, agree re most fun in ages. I set a goal of 4k words a week for a year. Let's go!

Where do you find the most followed authors list?

1000 followers? that is amazing! 21 stories in 2 months amazing! If got 7 stories in 5 months (3 more un-published) and a measley 37 followers. I've got the "H" on most of my stories...but the followers are slow to come.

My goal is only 1 story a month, plus 1 for each contest. My February story will hit tomorrow. (been waiting for 8 days for it to hit, submitted on the 1st) I've got my April Fools Day one done, and of course my Winter one was what started it all...but yea...

Very well done. I applaud you. I only hope to gain followers like that some day.

Your stuff’s really good! You’ve got one more follower.

Convoluted way to find it huh? Thanks SimonD. You’re both obviously on it! 👏. On this pace Mr. Hack will join you in a month and a half. I’m hoping for 2024.

Just want to ask the dumb question re. https://www.literotica.com/stories/favauthorsv2.php - is this number of PEOPLE following you, or number of times your story was added to their favorited stories list? Specifically, out of the stats spreadsheet, which column is it based on? I'm not even sure the difference between the last two columns.

The page blurb is pretty vague: "These are the stories, poems, and authors which Literotica members have added to their "Favorites" lists. The number in parenthesis is the number of lists each appears on"

Asking for a friend.

Last column is bookmarked stories, second last column is favourites. I think. That is, folk who have not yet read your story; and Faves = those who read it, and gave it a heart. Whether or not they also voted for it, who knows.

My favourites tally is so far down in the noise as to be meaningless, stats-wise.

I'll always go look at the length of their list though - if it's stupidly long I think what does that list even mean? If it's a short list, I'll very likely click on a few authors, figuring, if they like my stuff along with these writers, maybe these writers are a bit like me. And they often are. I favourite exceptionally good stories, but my list is quite short because I don't read much here.

I think I figured it out... top 250 is driven off the number of followers you have, regardless of stories. I got all excited for a minute, but yeah, looking at the wrong count :)
