This could have some nice potential. The first question would be, would the "wrong pair" have sex with one another (or a "straight" man or woman "suddenly" feel attracted to the naked/near naked same sex person)? And the answer is, OF COURSE. lol In a fictional tale, the characters can do anything their creator wishes.

I'd love to read any story on this theme if any (or many!) authors take it up!!

in this case the women would have to know each other.

Maybe the partner waiting in the room has prepared something. Like a room lit by candlelight. Because of that, it is hard to see it is someone else. They would have to look somewhat alike for this to work of course. Maybe she is waiting for him in lingerie, maybe even chained herself to the bed, possible even added a blindfold because she knows he is into that kind of thing? Because of the bad lightning, he thinks it is his wife. And either way, there is a beautiful woman in lingerie laying in his bed, I doubt he would be thinking much.

Or maybe both men arrive at the hotel late after a long day. Wives decided not to wait and went to bed already. Seriously, though, there are so many directions that this could take, it would be a great basis for a story competition. Given the premise sirhugs's OP, each contestant could take it in a different direction, and the readers could enjoy (and vote for) all the different flavors.
