I can't believe no one has posted a thread about this yet... You guys are slacking!

(the misspelling in the title is a nod to JBJ, I figure he may like this, but I have read him wrong before.)

Obamacare Architects At Harvard Furious After Learning They Are Not Exempt From Obamacare

Of course, the best thing about zh is the comments, here are a couple of my favorites:

NoDebt

Everybody have a good laugh now, get it out of your system. Realize this "outrage" (feigned or real) will be channeled into calls for what we all knew this was leading to anyway- single payer, government health care.

Only then will we finally have Utopia. I know it's been a long road and it hasn't worked so well in it's incremental stages, but when we go full-blown with government health care, it will FINALLY be the Utopia we were all promised. You're welcome, by the way.

Just because they were involved in its birth doesn't mean it's under their control any more.

BTW- Gruber worked (works) at MIT, not Harvard.

Philo Beddoe

Mary D. Lewis, a professor who specializes in the history of modern France and has led opposition to the benefit changes, said they were tantamount to a pay cut. “Moreover,” she said, “this pay cut will be timed to come at precisely the moment when you are sick, stressed or facing the challenges of being a new parent.”

Mary...you ignorant slut.

Too fucking bad too..because what the world needs now...more than anything...is people who specialize in the history of modern France.

The best parts of the stories I read on it were the direct quotes from Harvard professors in support of the ACA...

...before it actually impacted them.

Read a good debunk of those that are claiming it is what conservatives champion free-market setting prices and etc. (Krautheimer, maybe?) There is nothing free-market about the government telling you what must be in your plan and who must be covered for what. Yes conservatives want you be able to select a high deductible plan if you so desire. -At a lower cost! Not at these inflated, post-ACA costs.

ACA is like global warming. The harm or the benefits are way down the road, and partisans cherry pick, so arguing is pointless.

With ACA, it was deliberately front-loaded with (costly to the stem) benefits to garner support. The pain has been illegally delayed by the Administration through two election cycles and will not fully hit till he is out of office and the carrot of extra Medicaid money for the states expires.

No one is going to want to cut the states off cold turkey and there is no money in the budget after three years, so something will be cobbled on the way they do the doc fix every year, while still doing the accounting as if the doc fix wasn't done.

I'm not really familiar with the thread starter, but the fact that he posts with the explicit intent of winning the attention and admiration of JBJ tells me all I really need to know.

Well, nothing like a snap, tolerant judgment, is there?

The thread starter is decidedly female.

Finding JBJ amusing is an acquired taste, but if you decide to only read and respond to everyone that reads and responds to whomever you deign to put on your approved list, I would think that list shrinks pretty quickly.

I imagine you could probably address your concerns to her in first person, what with you having wandered into her thread and lowering yourself to comment and all.

I figured you like this too, query. I've seen you talking about how the ACA would lead to single payer around here before. Ominous prediction indeed.

My simplified, hard boiled version; it's another way for the government to monetize people, like they did with Social Security.

JBJ is an interesting fellow, a mad hatter.

I'm a she btw :)

It would have saved the country a lot of grief and wasted time and money, if the Democrats had simply announced, "We feel that a good portion of the uninsured in this country need our help so we are raising the amount of money you can make and still qualify for Medicaid, We would like to spend between 500 billion and a trillion a year on this new entitlement." The end.

You know as much about me as you know about fornication.

All ObamullahCare does is make work for plenty of new government workers.

That was Economist Thomas Sowell's take on it.

Paraphrase: If you feel we cannot afford health care, how will we afford health care and a huge bureaucracy to administer it?

Agreed, but that would have required the Dems and this administration to be honest and that was not going to happen.

The simplest way to do healthcare is create a small sales tax that provides essential medical-dental services with no frills. No boob jobs, no boy-girl sexual operations, no cosmetic surgery.

Oh, good to know your Obamacare covers this....

We already had the bureaucracy in place to (badly) administer it.

The Harvard staff has enjoyed "Cadillac plans" for years. NO deductible and NO co-pay.

They are squealing about a $250 dollar per year deductible and a $20 co-pay for a doctor visit.

I haven't heard this much angst since Julybabby demanded familes with sick kids be charged more.

We have it here now! But the county handed the general hospital over to a gang of niggers who bankrupted the place in no time. The county chased the niggers off then transferred the healthcare assets to the hospital in exchange for a promise to treat county residents for free. Twenty years later the hospital collects the tax but few get free treatment.

It was a great idea when it hatched. I referred many people to community clinics for acute care, say dangerous dental abcesses, and they were treated immediately, got meds, and sent for remedial treatment afterward. But the niggers had a fat time draining the hospitals assets, and that was that.

PROGRESSIVE is another word for FUCK ME IN THE ASS HOMEY.
