Oh, about three years ago or so back when I was in my college Archaeology of The Near East class I used to pick up magazines from the Middle East when I had the chance. In one of the Magazines published in Cairo it told the little known web of deceit being played out by intelligence organizations with Abu Nidal.
As many of you know we had a debilitating illness, well the best doctors in the region are in Egypt so when he wet to one of the more respected hospitals with renowned doctors he was surprised to find he was denied treatment.
The U.S. and Egypt got wind of his health plans and made sure to refuse him the operations he needed to survive. However, there was a stipulation, he could get the aid he needed on condition that Abu Nidal provide them with the code names he used to activate sleeper cells in place throughout Europe and America in order to carry out attacks and assassinations. As many of you also know Abu Nidal was infamous for his organizations effectiveness and wiping out his competition among Arabs he considered too moderate for his tastes.
So, for the last couple years the US has been using these code words to activate Abu Nidal's sleeper cells to eliminate suspected al-Quida and Egyptian Islamic Jihad cells (a major al-Quida ally). In essence they were using the weapons of one terrorist organization against another.

It sounds like Saddam has decided to patronage al-Quida now by doing them a favor and wiping out a enemy of Osama Bin laden. It reminds me in some ways of Osama's own "gift" to the Taliban of assassinating Ahmad Massoud of the Northern Alliance days before September 11.
