I loved it, though the focus of the movie really wasn't the romance as it seems to be from the movie ads. It's a really good movie and Hugh Grant is good in it. Ewan Macgregor might have been able to play the part well, but other than him I can't think of any other English actor that I would have prefered in the role. The movie called for a boyishly charming type guy to play the lead role or he wouldn't have been likable, at least at first.

Movies rarely live up to books.

Ok...I LOVED this movie.

wizbit...you don't know what you are talking about...Hugh Grant was perfect for that role. Who else could play a snobby guy like that??

My teens loved it...I loved it...we bonded...we laughed...we had fun...go see the damn movie!

all of nick hornbys books should have had the flims being acted out in the area they were set in (north London) with real people acting in it and not hugh grant (the stereotypical english guy, slightly rich, slighty cookie, charming, swarve (utter crap))

i saw this movie yesterday..and after reading the book about 10 times...i was prepared to be disappointed....

i wasn't..i thought hugh grant did a great job...(i usually don't like him..so..i was surprised) the little kid that played marcus was sooo sweet..(i wanted to hug him and take him for a haircut) and the changes they made (nirvana to mystikal) (train ride to talent show) were all ok changes...

it's a sweet movie...i laughed a lot through out the whole thing...girls will dig it
