Donald Trump Defends Call For Punishing Women Who Have Abortions: 'I Didn't See Any Big Deal'

Last week, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took several competing positions on abortion rights over a period of three days.

Trump, who was once adamantly pro-choice, said on Wednesday that “there has to be some form of punishment” for women who have abortions, only to claim later that day that he has never supported such a policy. Then, on Sunday, Trump declared that “we have to leave” current abortion laws in place, only to be again contradicted by his own campaign.

One big issue, five different positions, three short days

Days after evoking a firestorm of criticism for his comments on abortion, Donald Trump said in an upcoming interview that federal law keeping abortions legal should remain in place.

“At this moment the laws are set. And I think we have to leave it that way,” Trump told CBS’ “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson in an interview that will air Sunday. […] “The laws are set now on abortion and that’s the way they’re going to remain until they’re changed,” Trump said at another point in the interview.

Following a familiar pattern, the Trump campaign soon after had to explain that the candidate didn’t mean what he said. “

"On Thursday, Trump tried to blame the context of the Matthews interview – the defense didn’t hold up when MSNBC released an unedited clip of the exchange – and on Friday, Trump still had no idea what he was talking about on the issue, even though he must have known the questions were coming."

If taking a well thought out position on a woman's right to a safe and legal abortion, is not important to Trump, what is important to Trump ?

What, in Donald Trump's opinion, is important enough, to be treated like "a big deal" ?

Does Donald Trump have the opinion, that nothing on Earth is a big deal, except for HIMSELF.

It's not a big deal because he knows the laws will never be changed.

Indiana Court Throws Out Purvi Patel’s Abortion Conviction

July 22, 2016

Today, the Indiana Court of Appeals overturned the feticide conviction of Purvi Patel, the woman who was found guilty last year of killing her fetus by taking abortion-inducing drugs and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

However, the court upheld a lower felony conviction for neglect of a dependent.

Toxicology reports found no evidence of the drugs in her system.

Patel was the first woman to be convicted of feticide in the state for an alleged self-induced abortion — a conviction that has now been dismissed.

This farce and tragedy began in 2013. She was in jail, for the ambition of Mike Pence.

Could we please place him in jail for the same amount of time, to pay for a false accusation and false imprisonment ?

The law placed on the books, was intended to punish illegal abortion providers and abusive partners.

It was used to punish a woman that may have had a miscarriage.

Mr. HWMNBN has chosen Mike Pence, as the top pick, as the Vice President to his potential President of the USA position

Mike Pence is an anti woman candidate

Pence authored the first bill to block federal funds from going to Planned Parenthood.

We have a law that block Fed funds, for abortions. Pence wanted he own law.

Pence wants to make Planned Parenthood jump through hoops. Expensive hoops.

As governor, he signed a bill written specifically to shut down a Planned Parenthood clinic that only provided medication abortions, not surgical ones. The bill, SB 371, required clinics that offered medication abortions to meet the same facility standards as ones that offered surgical procedures. Planned Parenthood sued and after a legal battle lasting more than a year, a judge ruled that Indiana was prohibited from enforcing the law.

You cannot use your own private insurance to cover an abortion, with Pence in charge.

He also signed a 2014 law that banned private insurance coverage of abortion unless the pregnancy was the result of rape or incest or threatens the life of the mother. There are no exceptions for fetal anomalies.

Finally, in March, Pence signed a bill that would ban abortions on the basis of race, sex, or genetic anomalies and all women seeking an abortion would be required to have an ultrasound 18 hours before the procedure. The bill also required that all fetal remains from abortions or even miscarriages be buried or cremated. This asshat-ery led to the Periods for Pence campaign where women called Pence's office to detail their menstrual goings-on since they might technically be having a miscarriage and they didn't want to break the law. A federal judge blocked the provision banning certain kinds of abortions, and Planned Parenthood is also suing in a joint filing with the ACLU.

Fuck you, Pence, and your woman hating testicles.

Has Hillary Clinton's pick for Vice President had success in jailing a woman for a possible misscarriage ?

Kaine has supported a requirement for parental consent for an abortion — with an exception if a judge waives it — as well as “informed consent” rules, where a provider must give a woman information about adoption and other options.

He has also supported a ban, with exceptions for the life and health of the mother, on the controversial late-term procedure that critics label “partial-birth” abortion

So, Kaine is for erring on the side of women, even if he does not support free abortions, for every woman.

But, he gives squeamish Republican women an opportunity to salve their conscience, if they decide that Mr. HWMNBN is too much of a monster, to tolerate.
