AA Again

Three stories I have read today disturb me. One was about Ford Motor Company and how it had for years pushed the most qualified white men out of the organization in order to promote diversity. It raises the question, did quality go down, hurting the company? Was the Firestone incident a symptom of this.

Similarly, two stories on the AP wire talking about one Ms. Gilchrist, who was promoted for the same reasons, sent innocent people to their deaths and long prison stretches due to gross incompetence.

The downside to strict affirmative action legislation.

The same thing happened awhile back when Flagg originaly joined as Crystal. People kinda jump to the wrong conclusion based on their user name. Not that I can blame them in either case, mind you. lol

I'm sure this is what Andra_Jenny is thinking. But all I saw in the name was "Jenny." That says female to me.

In case you're wondering why I'm not around these days, its because I have NO privacy at work at the mo and I haven't got a PC at home. Its weird though - I'm so much better at my job since leaving Lit!
