A knock came to my door and I rose from the chair I was wrapped around, curious as to who would be in this desolate high country besides myself.
One hand on the door knob, the other behind my back and resting on the heel of my knife I opened the creaking wooden door to see a pretty set of eyes and a face that matched.
"Can I help you?"
I asked the woman and looked outside to verify she was alone.
She was.
"Could I use your phone? My car broke down and I'm afraid I'm lost?"
She spoke in a silky voice over full, red lips and I smiled, taking my hand off the knife and closing the door as she stepped in.
"Of course, it's back there"
I grinned and stepped back to admire her figure and long, tanned legs.
The grin was for her, and the amusing secret that there was no phone, and had never been one.
