Thw world has changed many times in the past milenia. Magic gave way to science which gave way to logic. And now magic is starting to come back again. This neverending cycle seems to make the world turn. Each change leaving its reminence in the next phase. Now magic uses some science to increase its potence and ability. This is the world of Rojam

Gerry walked down the side walks glancing into the alleys he passed. He wore black pants and a black shirt. A black trench coat hung down to his ankles. In his right hand he carried a staff. And strapped on his back was a sword, the sword however had a gun incorporated into it making it both.

"Hey kid, Why dont you give me that thing. You mighty poke your eye out" A voice said from behind gerry. He turned around revealing jet black eyes. "Why dont you take it from me." he said smileing. His hand rested on the handle to his blade. The man charge drawing his own wickedly curved sword. Gerry drew his sword in one swift smoth motion just before the man was going to behead him. Locking blades gerry brough the mans face to his. "Unlucky for you ive been around for 300 years." Gerry said as he turned his head to reveal elvish ears. Pushing the man back he charged him. Quickly touching blades gerry sliced the man across his middle. "Your, your, and elf. But we killed you all in the wars." the man said holding his stomack. Gerry brought the point of his blade to the mans forhead ,, " Aye that you did. But i happen to survive. And trust me, im not the only race coming back. There are some not as nice as I" He said as he sheathed his blade. WAlking again dow the street he heard the mans footsteps running away.

OOC: As you can see you can be humans elves, and also you can be halflings dwarves and orcs. There is guns but only older styles such as 1 maybe two kinds of semi automatics and revolvers. Most of which are incorporated into swords and blades. There is magic tho mostly only elves and humans use it. When there are more people i will start the plot, for now lets get people meeting eachother. Also minor villians and side adventur4e are allowed and extremley encouraged. anything you can think of will fit in this plot. I hope to see young and old anew here. and plz remember HAVE FUN.

Gerry

Gerry continued to walk dow the road until he reached the pub. He entered and serveyed the area. Choosing a seat in a dark corner of the room he sat and ordered an ail.

"Lonely night?" I inquired behind the bar looking into his distant face, like he had something up his sleeve. I went to the tap, filled up a mug and slid the sweet ail on the bar to him.

Lily

Mercury silver eyes sweep the tavern slowly as she steps in. Dark ebony tresses flowing freely over her shoulders and down her back, stopping just above her waist. She nods to the bartender as her boots thud against the floor softly with her steps, showing that she did not have heavy feet nor did she drag them. She takes a place at the bar, sliding up onto stool with an easy grace, moving her coat out from beneath her so that she won't sit on it.

"Ale, please." Her voice low and silky, holding somewhat of an unknown edge to it as she watches the bartender from beneath dark lashes. Her eyes seem to reflect the dim lighting of the tavern as she takes on last good look around before she now keeps to herself. Seems to lose herself in the wood of the bar top, the swirls and the grains pulling her in as she loses herself in a thought.

Aspect

Master Kanth was dead. Master Kanth had drowned in his own blood these three hours past, and gone to whatever hell was reserved for techno-sorcerers. Master Kanth's troubles were over (or possibly just beginning) and Aspect, third and most favoured of his apprentices, was on the run.

Grimly, Aspect tallied up the numbers who would be after him. The Mageguild would send their enforcers as a matter of course. The other two, who'd always been jealous of him, would seize the opportunity to at last pull him down. The Infernal Device that the master had been working, the one he intended to power with Aspect's blood, that was still out there, and now it had the power of a master, not an apprentice. Would it come after him? Aspect smiled wryly. Of course it would. You could always count on the bloodymindedness of demonic automata. It had been promised Aspect's blood. It had, if accidentally, recieved blood far richer in power, but it still wanted what had been promised.

Aspect could no longer hope for escape. He had no time to prepare spells, to construct a mechanical decoy (even if he had the power, of which he was doubtful) or to find and fortify some bolthole. But he kept running, because it was not his custom to surrender. If the worst came to the worst, at least perhaps he could find someone to tell his story to, to ensure something of him lived on, even if only as a footnote in the endless ledgers of history. He had killed a master of the Mageguild, even if mostly by blind luck. That had to be worth something. Aspect squared his shoulders and stepped into the tavern he found himself in front of.

Haunted dark eyes stared from the apprentice's pale face, framed by dark, smooth hair. He was lean, and slightly above average height. Aspect had unthreaded the silver pierced circle from all his clothes, and now dressed in simple black and ash-grey, with only the unobstrusive coil of twisted, ornately carved brass hooked into his left forearm, slightly warm and humming softly, to suggest his role as a techno-sorcerer.

The mageling, after quickly surveying the bar to ensure no enemies waited in ambush for him there, strode over to the counter and ordered a drink. He didn't bother even tasting it, once it was served; Aspect was beginning to live, as all sorcerers and hunted men did, in paranoia. Anything could be drugged. Anything could be poisoned.

There was a girl sitting across from him. Aspect nodded coolly, wishing he could use the brass lens, currently in his scrip, on her aura to see if it had the tell-tale bruised purple glow that Mageguild enforcers habitually had. They'd be coming for him. Sooner or later, the Mageguild always found those it hunted.

Lily

She sits up straighter, having been pulled out of her reverie for one reason or another. Looking down for a moment, she blinks as if still trying to pull out of it. She clears her throat softly, picking her head back up and looking to her left, silver eyes resting on Aspect and sliding over his form slowly, taking him in. She regards him for a moment, Hmm... Slowly her eyes fall away from him and she looks back to the bartender, milling about behind the bar as people ask for mugs of ales and refills.

She is a bounty hunter and she's out to collect her award. Sent by one cloaked figure or another, she didn't care, she never asked questions... just did as told for her payment. Family having been killed by someone who held a grudge against her father, but left her alive to fill her head with things that weren't true. Therefor, the perfect killer to listen to no one else but him, a twisted individual that would risk her life for money, or whatever that it may be as the stake.

Porky

'It's getting on in the evening, time for me to get to work.' thought Portman. He walked out of the shack he called his own and turned to go up the alley beside the tavern where he worked as the bouncer.
As he entered he noticed a few regulars and the bar keeper who yelled, "hey Porky!" He hated that name, but that's what everyone called him, Big Ole' Porky. It was on account of his baby face and baby fat, he looked like an enormous teddy bear, soft and pudgey. But anyone who associated with him, knew that somewhere under his layers of fat were a ton of muscles. '6'7", 540 LB, and able to lift a horse over my head, and all they can come up with is Porky,' he thought as he posted to his corner near the door and the bar.
'God, I hope this is a slow nite...'

Aspect was working a basic elemental magic, smoothing the dripped over foam from his ale into cabalistic signs on the scarred wood of the bar. There was power in alchohol, more than most people knew. More than most adepts of the Mageguild knew, hidden in their clockwork, spell-fortified shells of Guildhouses for centuries. Aspect had grown up on the streets, learned to use the raw, primal energy of beer and blood and sweat in spellwork long before Master Kanth had bought him. It was much cruder than Mageguild work, of course, much less elegant, but in simple, direct ways it was much more effective.

The signs of creation, entropy and the void appeared quickly, outlined by his delicate fingerstrokes. Softly, Aspect blew on them, on the drying foam, and the signs fell apart, like shifting cloud formations. The ward was laid now. No one could bring a magical weapon within ten feet of the apprentice now without his sensing it. Aspect smiled. He'd at least have forewarning of the enforcers.

He studied the girl again. There was an odd feel to her, something subtly out of joint. He'd have to study her through the lens to make sure, but he thought he recognised the signs, in her stance and strange silver eyes, of a killer. Aspect tensed. That could mean an enforcer.

He'd been staring at her too long. Aspect realised she'd noticed his intent gaze.

OOC

OOC: Plz forgive my lack of postage. I hadf thought my thread had died. To all you who joined thank you and it will be a very exciting time in the thread. I fear i cannot post tonight. Lily

OOC: See you soon, babe. :)

IC:
Although she was looking down at her mug of ale, she was still, very much, paying attention to Aspect. Right hand begins to slowly swirl the ale inside it's container and she looks towards the door slightly with only a small tilt of her head, watching "Porky" out of the corner of her eye. She looks back to the tender as he calls out to him, assessing the name and his stats. She chuckles softly, almost darkly as she lifts the mug to her lips, taking a small sip of the amberish liquid before putting it back down on the worn surface of the bar. Silver eyes watch the bartender from beneath dark lashes once again, full pink lips never moving unless to part so that her tongue may sweep across them in one smooth movement before disappearing once again.

Booted feet rest against the bottom rung of the stool, having found their place there long before she had needed to think about it. Her chest rises and falls slowly, nothing but a calm and cool exterior about her as she holds her own in her little section of the bar. Her most striking feature is her mercury silver eyes, which stand out as her hair is dark brown almost black, and having a smooth caramel complexion. When on her feet she stands at 5'6", with rigid straightness as she does not slouch. She carries out an aire of seriousness, her only type of humor being of the sadistic nature.

With her back to the room, she knows what's going on. She knows that there is a man sitting in the darkest corner of the room, a group of about three men just behind her, Aspect at the bar next to her and someone else to her other side. She does not seem on her guard... she doesn't seem.

Gerry

OOC yay im babe, i fdeel all warm and fuzzy inside

IC: Gerry watched everyone in the bar/inn. Everyone seemed pretty normal cept one girl who just didnt seem. Quite unusual. He repositioned his gunblade so it wasnt sticking into him and motioned for the barmaid to come over." Could you ask the women and man over there to come join me. Tell them i have a proposition for them." he handed her a couple gold pieces and smiled.

Ashterian

Sitting in his mansion high atop a hill in scotland he grinned evily. Ashterian had seen the rise and fall of all but the magic era. He massed his wealth in his house. He was evil in a different sence.

The prophecy first reached his ears late in the logic era. When magic came round however he felt the prophecy begin. The 4 artifacts from the first magic age had regained there power. " I must have them. ?Tthat will make me immorta. i will have them" could be heard miles away from his mansion.

Lily

OOC: *laughs* :p

IC:
She still continues to watch the bartender, who in fact had begun to avoid her. A soft chuckle is emitted from deep within her throat before it escapes her lips so that she may take another sip of her ale. Dark lashes flutter for a moment as she hears the man in the back corner speaking to one of the barmaids. Yes, she could hear him over the din of the rest of the bar. Something her "father" taught her how to do, devoid of magic or spells.

The barmaid stops by her side, leaning against the bar as she relays the message to Lily. Her brow quirks slightly and Lily looks over at her, piercing silver eyes making the woman stammer for a moment before walking away and heading towards Aspect. Lily turned back around for a moment and took one last sip of her ale, it wasn't all that bad but she wasn't much for being thirsty. She slides off the stool, her coat stopping at her knees and sleeveless, showing off her toned arms. She does something for a moment at the bar before turning and slowly heading towards Gerry's direction, stopping at his table, arms crossing over her chest, silent.

At the bar: A spinning gold coin for the bartender.

Porky

Portman stood next to the bar as he watched all the goings-on. Susan, one of the night waitresses, brought Portman his usual plate, heaped high with extra spicy wings, and pitcher of beer.
He watched Susan's tight little ass wiggle away as he dove into the wings.

'Susan is so hot,' thought Portman as he look ed over her 4'3" frame. He loved how her red hair fell curtly around her face in that bob cut. It framed her Green eyes and little round face perfectly...perfectly for Portman.

"He said he had a proposition for you. That's all he said"

The barmaid shrugged expressively.

Aspect considered. This wasn't the sort of trick an enforcer would pull; they'd just blast him with some steamtech magic weapon and to hell with the consequences. Maybe it was worth checking out. He certainly had nothing to lose.

He stood up and walked over to the man in black, noticing that the girl he'd eyed earlier was doing likewise.

Someone's getting a convention together.

"Yes?", he asked

Susan

Susan glanced back over her shoulder to see Porky shoveling wings into his face, which was smeared with BBQ sauce and blue cheese dressing. Susan shuddered, ''God, no wonder they call him Porky," she muttered under her breath.

It was only her second night working here and yet this baboon had hit on her more often in one night than a guildmage looked at himself in the mirror. 'I swear it that "porky pig" asks me out one more time...,' she left the thought unfinished. What would she do, he had been here for as long as the bar had been open, she was still just the new girl.

She made her way around the barroom, filling mugs, gathering trash, emptying ashtrays. Finally it was time for her break. Out the back door she went, hoping Porky hadn't seen where she'd gone. She pulled out a cigarette and pulled hard on the first drag.

"Hey Susie."

"It's Susan, PORKY, what do you want? I'm on my break,'' she said using her most pissy voice possible.

"I was just wondering if you would..."

"WHAT," she cut him off.

"Uh...uh...mind bringing a bucket of ice when you come back up front?" Porky stammered. Obvious in that he had planned to ask her out again.

As Porky slurked away, she couldn't help feeling like she might have been a little too mean to him...

Gerry

IC: "i have some things i need done that might require someone with a will to make some money and the skill to find people and places." i said smiling at the girl. "and i need someone who has knowlege that normal people wont possess." i said, I knew he senced me pick up on his talents. But i knew i could take care of my own. "if you want, money, then im sure youll find it more than satisfying." i still sat in the shadows. my face and body a mer shadow.

Lily

Her arms remain crossed over her chest, silver eyes boring into Gerry silently. Whether or not he was in the shadows, Lily could make him out easily as if picking and pushing the shadows away. Her dark, waist length mane of dark hair spills over her shoulders, framing her face in which it makes her eyes stand out even more beneath her dark lashes. She doesn't look at Aspect but knows he's there, his somewhat nervous like vibes coming off of him in waves and he seemed to straighten up at her presence. She licks her lips slowly before speaking. "Depends on how much you're willing to pay and where I have to go." Her voice is still silky, low and smooth but still with that unkwown edge to it.

Gerry

IC: " It isnt what ill pay you" I leaned forward and removed my hood, revealing my elvin ears to them "its how much you really want to have. " I leaned back into the shadows. " i fear there isnt much i can tell you except that youll be well rewarded"

Aspect shook his head.

"Money doesn't interest me. Way things are going, I won't live to spend it. Promise me the kind of power that puts locks on doors and wards on halls, promise me security, and I'm yours"

Lily

Her brow arches slowly. "Tell me of what it is and maybe I will consider it." Said simply, her voice never losing it's silky quality and after speaking she casts a looks over at Aspect. Lily's silver eyes slide over him slowly as he speaks before looking back to Gerry.

Gerry

IC: "Well, there is said to be gemms of great power and beuty, that if any but the person to first hold them comes near, they will dissapear from this plane of existance. The is gold beyond belief such that your herts would never feel the need to look for more. and there is an item i wish that holds great power." i said this all watching there eyes, and yet her eyes still did not move in any emotion.

Aspect returned Lily's appraisal, her emotionless silver eyes meeting his own shadowy dark ones. He turned to their employer.

"Your terms are suitable. Tell me what you require. And I work alone", he added, glancing dismissively at Lily, "You don't need her"

Gerry

IC: I leaned forward smiling evily. " If i was to choose between the two of you i would choose her, because she seems to have more self control than you and two, " i looked at her again " shes easier on the eyes than you are. But that is besides the point. We will all be hard pressed to survive this even with the 3 of us working perfectly. I said it was rewarding. not easy. " I smiled again. and sat back.

ooc:hey all hope no one minds if i join in^_^)

IC:

Ivellias
stepping out of the darkened shadows,he shivers a bit as a dog might shake off drops of water. He stretched a bit and walked up to teh tavern, pushing the door open and taking a step in carefully, looking around with contrastingly bright and cheerful-looking green eyes.contrasting this was his style of dress, which included black pants of a denim-liek fabric and a simple black button down shirt and a silver scythe necklace. At his belt hung two over-sized pistols, the barrel's edged and glittering wickedly.Their handles consisted of a normal pistol handle, except for a slioghtly straighter grip so as to be able to be used effectivly as a dagger.
Also, along his back, strung with a simple black strap rested a long dark-wooded scythe with the blade folded up against the staff-portion.

He takes a seat carefully, randomly choosing one from the available free ones.

Lily

OOC: Hey. :) Welcome. *gives you a fruit basket* :D

IC:
At Aspect's comment all she did was watch him from the corner of her eye, she knew better than to lash out in front of, what seems to be, an employer but she remains all the more silent... rather eerie. She looks back to Gerry, her arms remaining crossed over her chest as she watches him, her brow once again arching but in amusement.

"'Easy on the eyes'? That's a new one." Once again spoken simply, showing how much patience she has... depending on the situation. "I have no problem with working with either of you, just stay out of my way and we won't have problems." That comment more so directed towards Aspect than Gerry and it showed as her eyes flitted over to him and she turned her head to look at Aspect.
