Andante and I have known I would be in Denmark this week since August last year when we booked the flights.
During that time we have talked about being able to meet shyguy on one of my visits here.
As the time got closer Andante and I have had several talks about whether it would be possible to meet up with him. Shyguy lives quite a distance from Andante, but on this visit I was flying to an airport near to where he lives.
When I come over here I leave the UK at 3-4am in order to catch the plane and arrive in Denmark at 9am Danish time (8am UK time). But I work during the previous day and do a night shift up to the point of my heading out the door. As a result I am often very tired when I get here.
Talking with Andante last week he said 'We are not going to meet shyguy, you will be too tired after your journey.'
I was disappointed but he said it in a voice which I KNOW clearly means NO NEGOTIATION.
I was quiet about this but respected his decision and did not argue with him at all.
When we met I watched as we left the airport, but we did not turn towards the road leading to where shyguy lives so I settled back in the car and Andante discussed small issues as he drove.
On the way home he made a call. The whole conversation was in danish and he said nothing about the call when he hung up. That is not like him, so I asked who had he called.
"Oh, just a guy I know"
Now I was really curious so I asked where did he know him from.
"We have a common interest" came the reply
This nearly drove me insane I am so nosey and WTF does 'common interest' mean.
Andante had used that firm tone again so I shut up, although I was really, really curious about who he had spoken to.
There was no secret smile on his face he just concentrated on his driving and did not look at me.
We stopped to eat and Andante explained he was meeting this guy for a short time in a nearby city.
I had decided it must be someone who he shares a hobby with and as I know he has been working so much recently I was curious but glad he was able to fit in picking me up with something he enjoyed.
I offered to stay in the car and read or sleep whilst he met this person. I really thought it would give him time with this person without feeling awkward about talking to someone and discusssing things I know nothing about.
As a response Andante stared across the table at me and very firmly said "You will come with me, you will meet this person"

Not what I had expected at all, but again I shut up and did not bombard him with questions.
That was so difficult for me to do. I just did not understand why he was being so, so, well so Domly over meeting someone!!!
