aka his "dream girl"
what could possibly go wrong?
hmmm...

....she cheats on him?
...she falls in love with her professor?
... she finds he does not meet HER specifications?

He doesn't know himself well enough, and his specs give him a "dream girl" who isn't fun at all in reality. For instance, she's sexually insatiable ... but he's still a real person who can only perform so many times, say every other day.

It turns out that he is her dream guy. She ordered a custom human who desperately wanted someone exactly like her. He came from the factory with implanted memories of a life before his assembly and programming. We the readers find out when he realizes what he is. She pushes the factory reset button and his memory starts over with a paragraph from the beginning of the story.

love the second idea...

All of the above. Odds are that she is the dream girl for many men and her options are much wider than his.

As long as she lacks vocal cords, he ok!
But why!?!?

The vocals are such a big part of sex. With talking she can tease, tell what she wants, compliment you or whatever you like. Her vocal cords can work as you bang esch other into the stratosphere. Moans, sighs, whispers and screams.

You're missing out man.

That second one is exactly the type of thing I want to read. You're so busy with all the moral implications, possibly because you like that sort of taken power, that you don't realise it could be the other way around. The app with the reset button for her? That foreshadowing done at the beginning? It suddenly all turns around on him. Even if you didn't think of the weird power imbalance at first, suddenly you understand the horrors.

Out of curiosity, is every second day being active regular? I have never really asked others about that, even though I've talked plenty about sex.

Though I have to say, does his tongue wilt that second day? Do his fingers lose their ability to caress and tease her? His arms grow cold for an embrace? If your cock doesn't work at any time it might be a disappointment for you, but it doesn't have to be a disappointment for her...

There's a huge amount of variation in human sexual response, of course.

In my head, anyone who wants a manufactured, basically non-free-will lover is a psychopath and couldn't possibly be interested in pleasing the Other, except maybe to brag later.

Good point.

What about someone who wants them to have free will, but have the best possible chance to be with them? He obviously isn't in a favourable light, yet I can envision someone starved for social contact in a digital age, and wanting to give someone their heart and soul if they let them. They feel their only chance is a manufactured woman that has all the likelihood to fall for him as they can.

It certainly isn't perfect. It is still a whole lot better.
