:D Can we have a video of that? ;)

dang.
I will probably be in Philadelphia after Tut Moses-es along. (October)

When I was about 10, I wanted to be an archaeologist because of Tut.
My dad was stationed in Egypt during WWII and brought back a few "artifacts"... 1940's craft items.

Haven't had to use that since you got released from your own tomb, have you my Queen?

I always loved the romanticised vision of ancient Egypt painted by the Victorian British... fer instance: orAlma-Tadema so called "orientalists" and more recently Frazetta anyway, the talk inspired a quick sketch:

(odd it didn't work...resized etc...) (wurks now)..now she needs a story and some "animation", not just a stiff character study. A strapping slave to oil her and do her bidding...

Where to start....hmmm?

First off, it was incredible! You start the tour learning of his family, seeing the things in their tombs. What struck me most impressive throughout the entire exhibit was the detail in each piece. The craftsman ship was superb! Its hard to believe they did the things they did without the tools we use today.

You walked through small corridors that had projected phrases appearing in the darkness....as you reach the Tut galleries the first thing you see is this:

They believe it was a manniquin they used to make his clothes on...I gasped. I gasped a lot, I almost cried, it was all so beautiful.

Tut as Ruler of upper and lower egypt

More to come!

I'm trying to find pics, since you couldn't take any in the exhibit itself. I just wish you could see the detail.
I walked around each one, I almost took the plexiglass cubes off to get a better look.

I wish you could see the detail in this, it was amazing. Inside a small statue had a stand where its footprints were left behind. But the metal work, it was so tiny and so detailed. I can't descibe it well enough, the detail, spells cast out in metal and wood and stone to guide the dead through the afterlife.

They had this......the portrait head of how he looked. He was only 5'6". I think I could have taken him.

One of his many pectoral necklaces. This one has a lapis scarab. I wanted it.
Even the jewelry was intricate and inlayed. When you think about things in terms of cost today, they are priceless.

He had some animals too, and models of his ships.

Still trying to find more.......but this is just a taste.
