A way to help some troops.

Please, let's don't turn this into a political thread. I think we can all agree that the troops need our support regardless of how you feel about the civilian leaderships policies.

This is a site that was started by a soldier. It was began for troops in his unit of having a way to make a list of things they need or would like to have. The idea took off and over 700 troops are now registered. Troops basically register at this site, and people can pick an individual, or a unit and send them care packages. There is no distributor or middle man. All stuff sent over goes straight to the intended troop.

Unfortunately, there are some troops that don't get any mail or care packages. I knew some that were like that when I was active.

With Veterans day just passing, and the holidays fast approaching, I thought some might enjoy the thought of doing a little something to help make a soldiers day a little brighter.

I'm helping a mother pay for one of her son's return from Iraq for holiday leave. He was a high school acquaintance who in truth I didn't much care for personally. But well...yeah.

So sorry, won't be participating in this charity. I'm already hurting myself enough financially.

i thank you so much for this site. I have sent out 5 packages now and plan on sending at least one a week the whole year round. Right now the site has changed to the fact that you have to put the any soldier part of the address in your return address instead of the soldiers becasue the government says it is to dangerous to send to people that don't know you. I have just been sending to the person and writing a letter inside the box.
These men and women are putting their life on the line wheather we like the war or not. They have not been drafted they are all volunteers that love our country enough to support it. The least we can do is support them in some small way no matter if we like the war or not. What if it was your son or daughter in harms way from something besides a way. Wouldn't you want all the support for them that you could Get? May you all be blessed this season.
