Let's show those New Yorkers and Texans that we can do both with DC style!

No, really, I'd be good with a get-together though, as far as I know, only I and LTGR are too, too nearby.

Actually, off the top of my head, I was thinking someplace cool, like the Cada Vez, where all the good jazz gigs that aren't at BluesAlley are played.

But we'd have to sit down and plan something.

Cada Vez is on U Street, NW. It may be a bit pricey for a casual get-together, but they always book great music there.

No no - I'm not a snoot! That's why I don't usually fit in at those places. I go to Dupont for the gay stuff (and 17th street and other points east) and Georgetown for Dream Dresser, Pleasure Place, and Jack's Boats under the bridge.

I am in Richmond right now but I could not get up to DC any time this summer. Too much work right now and I dont' know how I would explain to my mom that i was meeting some of the people from my porn board that don't like her wallpaper.

I am game! This would be good. I do have a bit of traveling coming up. I'll be out of town July 20-27 or so and am also considering a trip the second full week of August. Other than that, I'm good. I'll go anywhere from Barney's Beanery (An example of a dumpy but fun place....but located in LA) to the Ritz. Jazz is great.

I don't know my way around Washington..except for the Art Gallery and the Smithsonian so I can't do much effective planning. I can give you a tour of most of the gardens in town though.. but I don't think that's what y'all are interested in.

Cheyenne, that would be great..I'd like to catch up with you. Even if we don't have the Washington weekend that 3rd week of August, I'd like to meet you for tea. I can make sure I'm in town then.
