A US military base now hosts DRAG QUEEN shows

In the UK, there has long been a fine tradition in drag performers. This includes the military. Plenty of men dressed up as women to entertain the troops. I'm not sure why you're getting so upset about this.

Actually, drag shows are a very old army tradition. Understandable, if a unit wants to have a show and has no women to play the female parts.

I recall an episode of Blackadder Goes Forth: Blackadder is put in charge of the camp's variety show. Percy gets cast in the "traditional soldiers' drag show" -- which leads to his being engaged to marry the clueless General Melchet. It's kinda like Some Like It Hot.
