Most of the women I've met in my life have definitely NOT been free.

Well, many, although not all, of the examples on this thread are entertainers, or are fictional characters (some of them played by real women).

In my life of 67 years I'd be hard-pressed to make a generalization about the women I've actually known. (And I was married for quite a long time, although I have a relatively cordial relationship with my ex, and I have a daughter who turned thirty-one this year.) On average they are more "low-key" than the ones on here because they are not in the entertainment business. Yet I'd say that, on their own terms, they were mostly not "unfree" in the sense of being oppressed by someone else. That's not to say that they haven't had some difficulties at times.
