Is there anybody else out there that likes to look at the threads on Lit but feels a little intimidated entering in the middle of a conversation between two people with posts in the 1000s? I always end up reading a lot of threads but never posting, mainly because I'm too shy to just jump up and start talking. If you're inexperienced with Lit or just a little shy (like me), post a little bit about something that's important to you here.

Well........ I'm just a demure youthful soul, so this thread must include me :)

You do not use your own name, they can't see you (true)... what else do you want :)

Fell the fear... Post anyway:D

I'll chat to you.. ask me a question.

All roighty then!

demure youthful soul

That's a much better way to put it! :)

So anyway, what kinds of music do you like to listen to Oughts? I prefer jazz myself, mainly pre-bop stuff like Dexter Gordon and Lester Young, but also some modern like Wynton Marsalis and Michael Brecker. I also like electronic music and usually listen to a shoutcast stream of euro dance music while I'm online.

no need to fear!

There's no fear in posting something between two people. You have JUST as much right as anyone else here. If you have an opinion, just toss it out there. No one has to agree with you or vice versa.

And like T.H. said, no one knows you.

If you're really embarrassed, come on back as someone else! Take the plunge! Even the people who have 1000's of posts started out with ONE!

Good luck!

Gosh, I hate it when people ask what kind of music I listen too. There is so much variety. Anything but not rap.

*she reaches over and gets the top 4 CD's off the pile*
John Lee Hooker
Pink Floyd
Aero Smith
Barbra Streisand

*turns to the crowd* "At least someone round here thinks I'm a demure youthful soul."

"At least someone round here thinks I'm a demure youthful soul."

Hmmm... I'm starting to wonder if I could have been wrong...:)

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement Oughts and Taxi! It's people like you that make this board so encouraging to new people like me!

Not a problem.... go gett'm :)

Well, Im not really that shy, the only thing I havent tried, and really want to is the online roleplaying, but I dont know how good I would be at. and dont want to mess up a good story... hehe

Oh, and by the way... Pink Floyd is the best... Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle, Wish you were here, Momentary Lapse of reason, Division Bell, etc, etc... All great albums... ;)

Sax & precious petal...

The long journey always starts with the first step.

Really, there's no reason to be shy in here. Take a stab at exploring the most important sexual organ in your body here... your mind. You might discover a soul partner (or two, or three, or four, etc.) here and more importantly you might discover something about YOURSELF here. Dive on in!

To ease your fears... if you happen to goof (or as petal puts it "dont want to mess up a good story"), apologize for your mistake. Most people are very forgiving. If you really make a major social faux pas, the nice thing here is you could always ditch your current identity and come back hopefully a tad wiser under a new name!

So again, please feel free to dive on in; maybe a few baby steps at first, but here's a guy who hopes that you guys will be up & running soon and contributing wonderfully naughty & fun experiences (yours!) to this site.

Good luck!
:) :) :)

Advice..

Take a look at bratcats post on the general board titled "Rick? Who the ....".

It really will give you a good look into the fishbowl.
Oh, have fun.:)

The truth is, there is no such thing as a conversation between two people here. If it's in the forums, then it's public. It may happen that no one else posts to the thread, but check out the number of views.... and if you have something to say, just do it. That's how people get to 'know' you, and how you get to be one of those people with 'posts in the 1000s'!

Though, truth to tell, I don't post as often as I could either *G*. But this was about you..............

Hi,

When I first came to LIT, I was introduced by a friend who read my stories. He suggested that I should get involved in the Sexual Role Play forum and after reading a few of them I got the gist of it all.

But then, I too was a little shy about posting. I wondered about if I was intruding in something until I put myself in as a character.

I then realised that the character I played became essential to the whole flow of things and I was posting like crazy and really getting involved, allowing my feelings to just flow freely and it felt really good to be part of it.

Later I started my own threads. Even started making comments in the other forums, just taking part whenever and wherever I could.

Now I post my own short stories and I was surprised that I realised that I could write and be read. That has boosted my confidence and I intend putting together my first novel. Of course that is something else I have to experience later.....whether I'm successful or not........who knows?

You never know until you try it!;)

Love to all....Sie.xxx

at first i was a little timid, but know i seem to be warming up. i just have to keep posting when i have something to say.

I want to thank Sienna for the support she gives to all the new people at Lit. I am still a shy newbie myself. Sienna was the first person to speak to me on this board and I watch her show that same support to everyone. She really made me feel welcome. THANKS

I too am of a shy nature, but Lit is helping me through it. In fact I even managed to post 3 stories and a poem. So I must be getting better LOL.
We all have to start somewhere, and the more you reply, the shyness seems to melt away.

And as you can tell by my signature I'm a country fan. But also love my NA music.

Just jump in and enjoy. Is people cant accept you, that's their problem not yours.

might as well

Well this is my first post and i figured this was the perfect one to do it on..I'm not really that shy just a bit but sometimes i read some of the post and see some of us poor newbies get ripped to shreds..Lord help you if you spell one word wrong or disagree with the popular people ..I mean i'm reading post one day wanting to post and i see 10 reasons to hate newbies not very encouraging...Also it seems like you have to be in the in crowd to get any respect around here .You must have witty and smart post or your blasted..It seems some have forgotten that they were a newbie at one time to..Any way enough of my whinny ass so if you dont like what i say then kiss my ass..:D

Well, Ive finally decided to enter a sexual roleplaying thread, Ill see how it comes out , thanks for your encouragmente people, you are right its not as hard as it seems... lol

Kudos to precious petal for stepping into that realm!

standing ovation!!!!

I only wish you the very best in that foray. The only words of advice I can add to that is to check back often, add some more spice and post as often (and as comfortably) as you'd like.

And if this thread doesn't satisfy you, please join in others with like tastes. A lovely gal like you should be able to find all sorts of threads where you'd be more than welcome to join in.

Again, congrats for stepping across that line!!!

:) :) :) ;) ;)

you will never be in your 1000's if you just don't jump in and post. post away
