Craig Cobb.. a white supremacist convicted of hate speech crimes as Canadian citizen living in the US... the US wont extradite him because their country doesnt have the same hate speech laws

Marc Emery, a pot activist who is charged with selling pot seeds by the US whilst living in Canada, where it is not a crime.. the US demands he gets extradited, and gets its wish and Marc goes to jail

is it just me, or is that pretty fucked up

The US extradition agreements with other countries are unbalanced. The US can extradite whomever it wants, but will not allow other countries to extradite wanted people from the US.

We have similar problems inside Europe. European arrest warrants can be served in the UK, and the accused can be extradited, but extradition to the UK of people the UK courts want is often blocked by procedural rules and the European Court of Human Rights.
