very nicely put jaded. thinking of everyone in the armed services on this wonderful holiday.

Hopin all our armed forces have the chance to spend the holiday with friends if not family...thanks guys and gals.

Thank you folks... :D

With all the confussion about the war they need to know that us real Americans are there for them! No matter what your feelings are about the war they are still are soldiers laying the lifes on the line for us. This ol'e soldier would gladly want to share Thanksgiving with them. Give them some down time that is very much need... :) Dammit it's the very least I can do!

You know a soldier give him a big hug and a thanks. Call them and tell them how great they are. I'm sure they would love to hear from ya... :D

Thanks everyone for truly caring. We are the REAL Americans not some lame ass politican... ;)

Keep'm coming I want more! Send a message.... :D

The amount of lookers/lurkers to those that actually post a response says a lot about this country...

I know in this day and age of electronic communications being a pen pal seems silly. But I have a friend from HS who has done 2 tours in Iraq, and is now in Korea, when he was here, he said to me "write me" I said sure, give me your email, he said "no, a REAL letter" Well, he's gotten 16 letters in as many weeks, sometimes I include a goody for him, gum, candy, etc, that he can't get there. He's gotten several seashells (we live at the shore)....

if you don't know a soldier personally....please, go to Operation Uplink and donate money (even $5) for phone cards for our troops...whether they are serving in Iraq, Korea, on a ship somewhere in the middle of the ocean, or in Europe...they miss their friends and family especailly at this time of year. Give thanks for them, and what they've done for us....and remember....Freedom isn't free.

Bravo, GutterGoddess. Spoken as a real human being... :D

Hey Jaded,

I finally found your thread here....sorry I didn't get to it sooner but I think our
good wishes towards our troops should also extend to Christmastime as well as
that's coming up! :)

One thing I've done in the past is send an electronic greeting thru Operation
Dear Abby.....the website is:

www.operationdearabby.net

There, one can send a greeting to anyone in the Armed Forces. :rose:

I feel so bad for those who have spend more than two Thanksgivings over
in Iraq, its bananas! :( Not to get on a soapbox here but starting next
year there should be a plan to start withdrawing our troops from Iraq.

Okay now off the soapbox :)
