Hi everyone,
I am not sure how many of you know me but my name is Jay and I have been on the Lit. for a while but rather new to the boards. I mostly come here to The Playground and sometimes to the General board. But here at the Playground, I meant a wonderful group of people.
These people over the last couple of months have been good friends to me. Always caring, always thought, always with a kind word when a little cheering up is needed. Well, last saturday I got into a rather bad sky diving accident and if any of you know me, you know its a huge passion of mine.
After the accident I blew off the on site doctors suggestions, orders rather, of going straight to the hospital. I decided I was fine and went home to rest. Well, a few of my friends from the real world didn't like that idea. So they started calling in friends, nurses, doctors and even my folks.
What did I do? I signed right onto Lit. while a doctor looked me over. Well, let me tell you, the friends of mine on the True Confessions board jumped my ass hard, and with good reason. After trying to say how ok I was I started to realise just how not ok I was. The injuries I sustained started to surface and the pain got pretty intense.
A few of my Lit. friends started demanding I go get to the hospital. I ignored them and blew them off like a complete ass. Thankfully, my parents override my little choice of accommadations and I was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. As I was put into the ambulance, bitching, moaning and causing a complete fuss, I slipped into a nice little slumber.
My injuries are pretty serious, and required immediate surgery to keep my dumb ass alive. Well, 5 or 6 hours of surgery later I was stable and asleep in the recovery room. Unknown to me, my roommate Mike signed onto Lit. under my account and kept my friends online informed of my condition as it changed.
My Lit. friends all got together and put together a topic on the boards to just send their well wishes and emotions for me to read when I woke up. My roommate copied them and brought them to the hospital. I got to read them sunday and monday after I awoke in the recovery and was transported to a private care facility.
And it is here I lay, letting my injuries start to heal, and my mind start to grasp just how close I came to not waking up. My friends here on Lit. have since saturday been the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of knowing. The have sent emails, cards and gifts to say how they feel and how much they want me to get better. I have been trully touched by this.
I just wanted to find a way to say thank you. To say how much it meant to me to read their words and listen to them tell me to get better. That they are here for me as I need them. These folks are trully the most fantastic people in the world and I just have no way of telling or showing them how much they mean to me.
While I can't name all the people who sent me well wishes I do want to tell you who these amazing people are. If you talk to them, thank them for me, I will do it myself for the rest of my life. If you get the oppurtunity to know these people, trust me, you will be a lucky man or woman to call them your friends, for they are mine for life.

In a world with few heros, these are mine. In a world now short one "dare-devil", they are the real dare-devils, because they dared to believe in me. They put their love and kindness out for the world to see, and for that I am trully greatful.
Thank you my friends.
