There was something equal parts exciting and terrifying about meeting someone that you hadn't seen for five years. On one level, it would be awesome to catch up on old times, see how much has happened in both your lives. Then there was also the fear of the awkward silence, that once you got the pleasantries out of the way there would be nothing for you to talk about, that the span of time had just been too great...

...It was even worse when the person you were meeting was your first love that you hadn't seen since the last year of high school.

When she had last seen him, Larry was a short, slightly chubby boy with messy dark brown hair and piercing dark blue eyes. Now he was 23, well over 6 feet and the last few years of fat had been shed and in its place was a well-built body. However, the sharp eyes and messy hair still confirmed it was him, despite everything.

Larry glanced at his watch, wondering what was keeping her. They were meeting in a small coffee shop close to his apartment, and he didn't have a whole lot of time before he needed to meet his girlfriend for lunch...

Lynn Smith was zigging and zagging through traffic to a meeting with her childhood sweetheart. She was a bit nervous as she hadn't seen him in five years. She had been a skinny, undernourished kid, braces adorned her teeth, long honey blonde hair, 5'2" with crystal blue eyes. That of course had all changed through the years. She had put on weight and filled out in the bust department. The braces had come off to unveil beautiful white straight teeth. Her long honey blond hair was past her backside now but it was held in a French twist. He was still 5' 2" but wore 2 inch heels that made her feel less then a midget.

She now work as a newspaper reporter but of course today of all days her boss had surprised her with a promotion to editor of the news section of the newspaper. Of course the staff and he had a party planned and it was only through a series of lies that she was able to exit her office party.

Now as she drove, too fast, too reckless to meet her first love, she thought about him in depth. Sweet, gentle compassionate Larry who had been so sup portative of her when her Father had died. Larry was actually the reason she had no male friends. She had the tendency to compare them with him and they always came short of the mark of what she considered a perfect mate.

Of course she wasn't kidding herself, she knew people change and had already resigned herself to the fact that her love had to. She screeched the car to a sudden halt right by the coffee shop they were to meet at and pulled into a just vacated spot to the honking of horns and rude comments of others who had wanted this spot. She stepped briskly out of the car and raised the press card to the irate people surrounding her. That silenced them as she picked up a pad and pencil and made believe she was writing their licenses down. The group scattered and Lynn smile. He had always been the queen of spontaneity.

She threw the pad and pencil into the car, put the press pass in the window, picked up her purse and hurried into the coffee shop. When she got there she looked around the crowded shop and just could not find her Larry.

Larry looked up as the car screeched to a halt outside and just shook his head when he saw the leggy blonde climb out. Man, what was it with beautiful women and that a lot of them were insane drivers? Without a second glance, he went back to nursing his chocolate shake, suddenly feeling like Lynn had most probably had cold feet and decided against meeting him.

Just then he looked up to see the blonde walk into the cafe, glancing around as if she was looking for someone. His eyes widened: That couldn't be Lynn, could it? But then again, he didn't exactly resemble the picture in his high school yearbook that much either. he examined her closely, noting she had Lynn's short frame, but not much else...

...Wait!

He noticed her eyes, the same crystal blue eyes that were like much ligter versions of his own, ones he used to stare into all the time when they were young. It was her.

Getting up, he tapped her shoulder from behind and grinned down at her. "Hey, short and beautiful - don't even recognise your old friend? I'm saddened."

A touch to her shoulder and a voice that was sort of familiar, caused Lynn to jump and turn, too quickly she found herself bouncing off the hard muscular body of a man. She was going down as his arms went about her waist, she found herself off the floor looking into the very familiar peircing eyes of Larry.

Always spontaneous she placed her arms around his neck and kissed him. Afterward when he placed her on her feet she was embrassed by her actions but hid it well, only a faint coloring of her cheeks let him know how she felt. As they walked over to the table, Lynn kept up a stream of chatter.

He held the chair for her and when he sat down she smiled at him.

"Well I could always make an entrance, couldn't I, Larry, I am sorry about, you know. So how have you been, I was that surprised when Mom told me you had called. I had heard you moved away"

The waitress came over to their table, Lynn gave her a dazzling smile and order tea.

Larry ordered another milkshake and then glanced across at her. God, she looked gorgeous. He had always thought her a beautiful girl back when they were younger, but maybe some of that had to do with the fact that she was the only girl who'd hang out with him...And yet they'd dated for two years, before college forced them apart.

"Well, I thought it had been so long...I wondered what had happened to you," He gave her a small smile, brushing his messy fringe out of his eyes. "You've become even more beautiful that you were in high school, Lynn."

She smiled as she leaned forward and brushed his hair aside, the years seemed to melt as she did this. It had been her custom to do this when they were kids.

"I think we both have changed a lot. I can't get over how tall you are now, of course I remained a midget but the heels help a bit. You trimmed down and I filled out. You became a most handsome man but I still loved the boy you were. I was always beautiful to you even was I was skinny and flat chested"

She did not feel unconfortable talking with him like this, they had history together. He had been the only male she had spoken to and she the only female.

"so what are you doing with yourself these days, Larry"

A nice shiver ran down his spine when her soft hand brushed back his hair, and the small smile she had on her face was mirrored by his own. Their eyes met, the same colour but two very different shades and Larry found himself flashing back to their prom night. The two of them had gone, naturally, but decided to skip the after-party boozing and had instead gotten in his car and driven to a hill outside town. There he had lain a blanket for them and they'd just looked at the stars...And under those same stars, they had made love.

A loud horn honking outside brought him back from his memories, and he realised that was in the past. He had a girlfriend and there was no way Lynn was still single. Blushing a bit, he smiled back at her.

"Oh, you know, keeping busy...A CPA is never long without work, plus Stacy is a slave-driver, whether she means to or not. I swear, that girl doesn't sit still for a second."

Lynn was smiling happily as she listened to every one of Larry's words. She was happier then she had been in years hanging on his every word. Suddenly the smile froze on her face as he mentioned a Stacy.

Why of course she thought, why would he be alone just because I am. He was always a virile man and now he is a very handsome man so what girl wouldn't want him. She continued to smile and think how stupid she had been to think for even a second they could be together again. She noticed suddenly that there was a quiet between them and he was looking at her strangely.

"Well, it seems you have done well for yourself, Larry"

She looked at her watch, gee, only 15 minutes had past she couldn't act as if she needed to leave so she thought for a bit.

"So how are your parents doing"

"Oh, you know...Getting old and complaining about it," Larry replied, laughing even though he had seen how her face had fallen when he mentioned Stacy. He was both hurt and happy...Hurt because he'd upset her and happy because apparently she hadn't completely forgotten about him.

I should make this up to her...Stacy'll understand if I want to spend the afternoon with Lynn...

"Hey, Lynn, are you busy for the rest of the day? I've taken the afternoon off, so if you could do the same, we could hang out. You know, kinda like the old days," He gave her a small smile and reached across the table, placing his hand over hers. "I dunno...I'd like it."

Lynn had mixed emotions as he gave her this little bone. Apparently, she had not been able to hid her feelings, she never could with him. She thinks what the heck one day with him would give me a whole live time of pleasure. She nods her head and calls her boss asking for the day off. He tells her yes but tomorrow she would have a full day. She thanks him nice and snapes the cell closed.

"I am all yours for the day, Larry"

"All mine?" He gave her a playful smile as he asked for the bill. "Does that include a quickie in the back of your car? I mean, we did say it would be like the old days..."

Outside, Larry slipped a friendly arm around her waist and pulled her closer, smiling a bit as he smelt her perfume, still the same she always used. He looked at her and started feeling a deep stirring inside of him as old feelings began fighting their way to the surface.

"So what do you want to do first, Lynn?"

Lynn could tell that Larry was feeling a bit frisky, she would have to nip that in the bud. She was not going to have an intimate relationship with a man who had a woman. She wanted his company more then she could have guessed but she was not an easy lay after all.

"Lets take a walk in the Park"

She pulled away from him a bit but it did not seem to disaude the firm girp he had on her as they walked to the park.

Larry felt her trying to pull away and like always, he could read his first love like an open book. He kept his gentle hold on her, but whispered playfully: "As beautiful as you are, Lynn...An arm around you does not mean I want to take you into a nearby bathroom for freakish monkey sex."

Chuckling a bit, he watched other happy couples pass and he imagined him and Stacy walking through here like they did every evening, but...This time, for the merest of seconds, it was Lynn he saw himself with, laughing happily before leaning against an old tree for a gentle kiss, not Stacy.

"So what about you, Lynn? Your boyfriend doesn't mind you taking the day off to spend time with me?"

She chuckled and looked up at him.

"The last boyfriend I had was you"

She realized to late that she should not have said that. He did not need to know he had such an effect on her. She immediately went into damage control mode.

"I am to busy for a social life, Larry, I have been working at the local newspaper since graduation and going to college at night. All my hard work paid off as I got the editor's position in the news room"

She hoped she had properly deflated his ego by her statement and gave him a sidelong look to see his reaction. She was surprised that there seemed to be none. Or maybe he was in shock from her orginal statement.

He had been the last boyfriend she had?

Larry looked at Lynn, his expression unreadable as he wondered why this beautiful girl hadn't had a boyfriend since the stubby, fat kid for whom she had been a first girlfriend. When she told him the reason, he nodded quietly, quietly chiding himself for being stupid enough to think that it may be because of him.

"Just remember...All work and no play makes Lynn a dull girl." Larry sat down on a nearby bench with her beside him. "Man, I've missed you, Lynn. I was kinda bummed when we had to go to different colleges, but it seems it was worth it at least, career-wise for the both of us."

She looked whistful for a moment and when she noticed him looking at her, she quickly smiled.

"yes it worked out just fine"

Her words sounded even a little harsh to her own ears.

"Well, er, what else is new in your life"

She wanted to take the spotlight off herself and half listened to his words as she thought if only we had gone to the same college maybe we would be together instead of Larry being with Stacy. Regrets filled her as she remembered the day she had made her choice. It did not make her happy at all but she continued to smile at him.

Lynn was acting oddly, but Larry just brushed that off as her being nervous around a guy she hadn't seen for five years and she wasn't quite comfortable around him again just yet.

"Well, I'm not doing too badly either. I'm handling most of the top clinets for the firm, and word around the coffee-pot is I'm being considered for a partner position."

His eyes met hers and they shared a slow, almost simultaneous smile the way they always did, and he felt his old feelings stir even harder. What if he and Lynn hadn't split-up? Would they still be together? Would it be her he was getting ready to ask to marry him instead of Stacy? He asked as much, deciding to push it off as a joking question

"What do you think, Lynn? Would we still be together now, after all these years if we hadn't split up?"

Lynn answered his question without thinking.

"Yes, we would be together if I had only went to the same college as you"

As she said it she realized she had said the wrong thing. After all, he had a stacy now that he obviously cared deeply for.

"But, who knows, maybe after the first few years, you would have tired of me"

"Lynn..." Larry looked at her, his hand automatically coming up to cup and stroke her soft cheek like he always had. "...I could never tire of you. Hell, you were my first everything: First kiss, first love," He blushed a bit. "My first...You know."

Larry abruptly leaned forward and kissed her softly on the lips, lingering for the smallest of seconds before pulling away.

"I'm...I'm sorry."

Lynn's crystal blue eyes filled with hope as he said he would never tire of her. She was his first everything including their first trip into the world of sexual pleasure. She remembered those days and her body reacted to his kiss, more then she had ever expected it to.

When he said he was sorry he had kissed her, she looked down as she did not want him to see the hurt in her eyes.

"It is all right Larry, I think I should go now"

"No!" Larry could see the surprise on her face when he almost shouted out his dseire to not see her leave, and he himself was surprised as well. She looked up and he saw the hurt, feeling it spill over to himself. He pulled her against him, hugging her tightly.

"I'm so sorry, Lynn...I didn't mean the apology like that. I thought you'd think I only wanted you, you know, for a quick fling and that's the last thing I want."

Lynn looked at him confused, not understanding what was going on here.

"What is it that you want from me Larry, I need to know"

And she did, she loved him still but he was with a Stacy so what did he want with her.

"I...I dont' know, I'm not sure..." His blue eyes suddenly locked on hers, knowing what he wanted but having to be sure. "Lynn...Kiss me, please. Kiss me in the way you feel about me, don't hide anything."

A moan came from Lynn's lips at his words. She threw herself into his arms and placed her mouth over his, letting go of all her feelings her mouth pressed hard against his and moved sensually against it. Her body shook with passion and soon she was lost in the kiss.

Larry's arms wrapped tightly against her smaller frame, slipping perfectly into position as if it was still five years ago and showing him Lynn was built for his embrace. She was shaking against him, and Larry felt her breasts pressing against him through the material of his shirt and her blouse.

He had forgotten how nice it was to kiss her. Lynn could be equal parts wild animal and almost-melting surrender, and right now she was channeling both parts for a kiss he had never gotten from Stacy. Moaning her name against her lips, Larry gently poked his tongue between her lips, turning the kiss deeper.

He wouldn't break away, he'd kiss her until she pulled back because right now, he never wanted to have her out of his arms...
