Adam Darvin sat in the pilots chair watching the scanner closely as his crew moved around the small cramped cockpit. At 35 he was old to be in the smugglers game still, most having died or retired rich by this age what with those being the only two options for people in his line of work. However he had never hit the big score so him and his crew bounced from one job to another always hoping something big would fall into their laps. What is it they say, careful what you wish for?
"It's a ship of some kind, Captain." His co-pilot, Handle Tyler, stated reading the sensor data as it filed past him on the viewscreen. "Something crashed down there ... might be worth a look."
"Nothing else has worked out on this job." Groused his engineer, Tanar Kasem.
Tanar was of the species know as Rhinaughts, big, muscular, four armed and despite their brutish looks they all seemed to have uncanny abilities with machines and tech. They were also handy in a fight.
Adam sighed and nodded, what did they have to lose. Tanar was right, a simple milk run job had turned into a dismal failure when they got scammed out of their earnings at gunpoint. Reaching over to a comlink he clicked it on.
"Keesar, Latham, we're heading down to the planet to try our luck at salvage. Button us up tight." He clicked off the link knowing his two remaining crew would be doing just that.
The Nebula Angel was an old ship and she had seen better days. A modified stock light freighter, Adam had purchased her from her previous owner at what he thought had been a bargain price, unfortunately he hadn't figured out why until much to later. Over the years though he had patched her up and upgraded certain systems, but even so she still rattled going through the atmosphere. Getting a green light from Keesar, Adam started their journey into the planets atmosphere, his eyes fixed to the instruments and the bleep that indicated where the crashed ship could be found.
