A self-written story

I read awhile back about people whose characters took off on their own and went in a completely different direction from what the author had intended. I've heard of it happening before, but until recently, it had never happened to me.

I have a new story (only my second posted here) that I just submitted today, so it's not up yet. In this story, I feature an alien with interesting abilities. I originally intended for him to meet the girls and take their virginity using this ability, end of story. What actually happened was so much more. I'm perfectly happy to give my characters their license, as long as they don't take advantage of it. So far it's working.
