The main hallway of the XGen laboratory was a bright, sterile white. It was approaching midnight - long after all the employees had gone home. It was cold, empty, and mostly silent - save for the clacking of a woman's heels as she carried a box of office supplies towards the hallway's end. The woman was none other than Dr. Kimberly Cho - the newly appointed director of XGen's biological R&D department.
Dr. Cho was heading to her new office - a massive upgrade over her original basement laboratory. She received her promotion after publishing a cutting-edge discovery for XGen. Her research was so groundbreaking, it secured for her lab more funding than she knew to do with; the pay raise was greater than she could have ever anticipated; and most importantly to her ego, her name was forever cemented as one of the greatest minds of the era... However, she was not going to let the whole world know that her discovery was far from her own original work. She had to "acquire" additional, and vital, data from a fellow scientist at the institute in order to complete her own research. If anyone ever had to describe Kimberly, it would be that she hated not being the center of attention. So naturally, she chose to write her fellow scientist out of her research. Where was he now? What has he been doing? It didn't matter to Dr. Cho anymore now that she was moved to the top floor of the facility.
Dr. Cho arrived outside her new office. The door even had a plaque on it with her name engraved in gold. It was nice to be on top. She entered her code into the keypad on the door, entered, and began to set up her new office. It really couldn't even be described as an office. It was more of a luxurious loft. She had a personal bathroom and even a bed to host herself over the long and stressful nights to come where she would be too drawn into her work to bother driving home. She began to unpack her things when she heard a knock on the door...
