Is nothing sacred?

Once Prince William and Kate have said their "I do"s, they don't get to kiss?

No they don't, according to the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall, the dean of Westminster and the man responsible for overseeing the spiritual life of Westminster Abbey.

"There will be no kiss during the wedding ceremony,"

"We don't do that in the Church of England. That's sort of a Hollywood thing: ' You may now kiss the bride.' It doesn't happen here."

Well then, I'm not going to be sending them a wedding present.

Jeez, how stuffy can you get? You can't kiss the bride in church even though you've been living with her for how many years? :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Well, if you have never been to Great Britain, and don't understand Royalty and The Church of England, I guess I can excuse you.

I mean, you are right on one count: After seeing that post of Kate (or should I say Princess Catherine) in her itsy bitsy teenie white bikini, we are all sure that William will never have to worry about a 'limp willy'. But, if you have any understand of the above, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I hope some of our friends from the British Isles weigh in on why kissing in public weddings (especially Royalty) is not accepted.

A Royal Wedding is a State occasion, not a private ceremony. Would you want to fluff a kiss in front of the great and good of the world and several hundred million viewers?

They'll probably do it on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, as usual.

In many Church of England Parish Churches, kissing the bride is not only permitted, it is encouraged. However Westminster Abbey is not a normal Church of England place. It is a Royal Peculiar, a Royal Church within the bounds of Westminster Palace, and the Royals set the rules. After all, Her Majesty the Queen is the Head of the Church of England, not the Archbishop of Canterbury. Prince Charles and Prince William will follow her in that role.

Let's talk about what really matters....

What kind of wedding dress will Kate be wearing? And gosh, darn, it's less than a week away! Being that the wedding will be televised in my part of the world at something like 2am, I figure to record it, then view with an afternoon tea at my leisure. But whatever should I serve for tea to make it both English enough and Royal enough?

I suppose I should get a little bubbly for toasting the bride and groom.

Well...okay...but it makes me wonder what else isn't done in the Church of England...:D

I mean, whatever happened to, "Go forth and multiply"?

oh, my husband and i weren't allowed to kiss during our wedding either...

Outstanding! No kiss but a balcony ball in front of all? I'm definitely taping this one!

3! Who's designing the royal panties?
