"Coffee... Now." A woman demanded as she stuck out her right hand. The young girl beside her quickly handed her a travel mug as the both walked up the long walkway, well aware of the eyes on them. "Now remember don't stare and talk to no one unless talked to. Got it?" The woman asked. Elena gave a small nod as they reached the front door.

"Tiffany, good morning. I can't wait to see what you have planned for the guest room remodel. If it's anything like what you did for them last year it will be spectacular I'm sure." Andrew said as he usered the girls inside. He was an assistant to the queen, or something like that, Elena couldn't recall his official title. He had visited the office well over a dozen times as they worked out the design plan, now here they where actually in the house to go over the final changes.

"May I have the plans." Elena's boss Sharron asked, uncharacteristicly polite. Elena smiled as she handed them over. As Sharron and Andrew fussed over the paint color Elena couldn't help but look around, admiring every little detail. If she had lived in such a place she wouldn't change a thing. It was all so elegant and beautiful. She could easily get lost in every little detail.

"Trust me brother i let you win this time because you're the younger one. You of all people know of my prowess in pool. The undefeatable Strider." Tendel bragged along the way. They had just left the gameroom and was now walking on the long walkway to Andrew's office.
Andrew was an assistant to the queen, her right hand man, he was close to her even than her advicer. Once the both princes thought there was an affair between the two but with no way of proving it, the thought was dismissed.
Stalz pronunced 'Starz' nodded slightly. "Yes ofcourse. I am grateful you let me beat you." he responded to his brother's bragings, heavy sarcasm drooling in his words.
Stalz was the exact opposite of his elder brother Tendel. After the death of their father, he assumed responsibility of the family affairs when Tendel refused them. After his prodigal son days, Tendel returned back home to claim his throne.
Stalz being calm natured and polite stepped down and relinquished all duties bestowed on him to Tendel.

Stalz couldn't help but wonder how really necessary remodelling the palace was.
The ballroom was still okay to him, its floor still lustre and its wall, sheen. He turned his gaze to Tendel who was still blabbing on about how he'd intentionaly struck the blue ball and how hw was feeling famished and couldn't concentrate on the game.
"Do you really believe this renovation, remodelling or whatever Andrew called it, are you sure its not a waste of finance?"
"A waste? Are you sure you know what the party is about, its the day i'm officially made the crown prince, the day when i'll be free to hold the sceptre, and be given same authority dad had, in short its my coronation. The day deserves to be perfect. Personally i wanted a more grandier body to oversee the arrangements, a reputable international company perhaps. Their is one in England, but instead, mom insist on a back washed organisation like Sharon's." Tendel replied with a dismissive wave of his hand for they were now infront of Andrew's door.

"Do you think it's enough? Maybe a larger chandelier? Or gold accents instead of silver?" Sharron suggested. Andrew nodded in agreement as the two continued to fuss over the plans.

"Get the door dear." Andrew said gesturing to Elena. Quickly opening the door she let the men inside, keeping her eyes focused on the many trinkets about the room, not wanting to offend either of them.

Sharron put on a big smile as she turned to greet the princes. "Good morning. I'm Sharron Yarlie. Andrew has told me all about your hopes for this new room and I think we've come up with something that's beyond your wildest dreams. It's truly spectacular." She said stepping aside so they could see the plan.

Immediately the door opened Tendel wore a scowl, he had always assumed it to be the look that made people fear and panic.
As they walked in Stalz kept trying to make out the face of the one who has opened the door. For some reason he couldn't fathom she has refused eye contact with him, only looking at the ornaments around, or the ceiling sometime or something place on the wall.
He didn't realise how long he'd been watching her, but only when Sharron asked them to see the plan did he tear gaze from her.
"This is rubbish Andrew, totally unsophisticated and unsuitable for a man of my class. " Tendel shot out after a quick glance of the plan.
Stalz who was still studying the plan ignored his brother's words. They were his usual words, grumpy, complaining and the like. He shook his head one more time then sraightened up.
"I'm no architect or ome planner, but from what i can see on this paper, it will be spectacular, the layouts and arrangements are all properly considered and surely fits your status brother."

"No, you're right. It's not good enough. You deserve the best. This is mediocre at best." Sharron said folding up the plan "We will come up with something much better, I promise you. Elena why don't you go take some photos and measurements of the room. That way we have a better idea of what I'm dealing with here."

Elena nodded as she started to leave the room, realizing she had no idea where she was headed.

He couldn't keep his mind off anything else, the girl Elena she was called, he learnt her name from Sharron who was very happy to be of service to the royal family. The girl astonished her, intrigued her. They have not said much to each other, actually they have not spoken at all. Yet he couldn't help but feel drawn to her. Feel the urge to know her.
Learning from Sharron that this was Elena's first time in the castle, he hurried after her. He caught her in the hallway seemingly lost in a painting on the wall. It was a painting of cupid, the mythological baby-god of love firing his love arrows to two unlikely people. A dark knight and a white sorceress.
"Captivating right?" Stalz asked standing inches behind her.

Elena jumped, spooked by his sudden appearance. "It's beautiful..." She said turning to face him "I'm so sorry, I'm a bit lost. This place is huge and I don't have even the faintest clue of with way to go." Elena caught herself staring at him and quickly averted her eyes to gaze upon something else. "Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?"

An arrow from Cupid

"Y-yes-yes it is." he stuttered in response to her first question. The few minutes that she had looked up at him was the longest and shortest minutes of his life, he couldn't help but be drawn to her eyes, to her voice that was so soothing and calm like a sweet lime balm on a raging storm night on a bucaneer's ship.
Stalz stared at her, with mouth half open and dreamy eyes.
She turning her gaze from his to look back at the painting helped brought the prince from his spiraled dream world.
"Yes. I can show you around. Infact, i'll like to be your tour guide for the day, if you'd take me." he chided playfully, then made a slight bow and reached out his hand.

"I'm sure you have much more important things to do then usher me around. I'm sure my boss wouldn't be happy if she found out the Prince was helping me. I'm supposed to be the one helping you." Elena said "I'm here to make your dreams come true. So just show me where I need to go and I can take care of things from there."

"I have many more important things to do today miss. And strangely, ushering you around has just made the first on my top list." he looked at the overlylong walkway and then back to Elena.
"If you wish to make my dream come true then permit me to walk with you, at least if not by your side, behind will do." he said that part with a little smirk. He'd surely enjoy the view from behind

"Lead the way.." Elena said turning her attention back to him "So what are your thoughts on the renovation? I know this is your brothers project but it is still your home as well. There must be something you want from all of this." Elean said as she followed him down the hallway. "Any thoughts would really be helpful."

"I only wish to see my brother happy. If he wants the Sculptures removed or replaced, by all means. If he wants the pavillions and pavements and balconies gone. I'll support him." they walked on in silence, she still looking away from him and taking notes of things around her. Everything but him.
Stalz was determined to change that, normally he wouldn't spend this much time with a girl and if he did, it would be after telling her for the umpteenth time that he wasn't interested. Strangely enough all those girls were loyalties.
"I want one thing from all this though, a favor to ask of you." he spoke after a while, waiting for her consent to ask his question.
Now gotten the go ahead he asked, "i want you to have dinner with me. Any place and time of your choice."

"Dinner... With me?" Elena looked at him stunned "I guess I could do that..." She said nervously looking through her notes, her mind reeling. "You do understand that I'm nothing special. I'm not royalty, not even close. What if someone saw you with me? Aren't you worried about what could happen. I know it's just dinner but you know how people talk..."

Stalz let out a soft laugh, "i don't care what people say Elena, folks condemned things they can't understand, and it won't be surprising if they condemn a simple diner between a prince and an angel." he smiled warmly at her, to ease if not erase the agitated look she wore.
"Yet if you're worried about what jobless folks will say, then how about it being a simple dinner in a quiet place. I can come pick you up when you're ready tonight and we can have a good dinner without giving people something to wag about."

"Simple would be nice. We should be done here by five so how about we meet at seven?" Elena asked as she went back to work jotting a few things down. Tearing a fresh piece of paper out of her notebook she scribbled a few things down before handing it to him "My number and address..." Looking at him she couldn't help but wonder why he was doing this, it wasn't like he didn't have a million other options.
