A Rerun of an "OOC" Casting Call for The Witch of Lower Denton Fell... (apply within)

Hello, and welcome (again!) to Lower Denton Fell, in the wilds of Cumbria, England! We are pleased to have you with us today! Feel free to look around our sleepy little village.

We once had a casting call for our quaint village found here, and since we lost a key player we are back! And, you need not worry... We plan to start an entirely new story so there is no confusion (or so we hope! ).

My name is Caitlin Marie Hay, formerly Goodie Hay of Scotland, and I shall be your tour guide on this thread! I am the village's Cunningwoman and closest thing available to being a doctor, as I am a Midwife. Please don't be afraid of my little charms and spells. They are simple white magic, a source of good and healing!

Let me take this time to introduce some of the other villagers poking about! There is, of course, our not too honest or pure town preacher Father Thomas Greenwich, who is desperately gripping onto thin straws to keep Catholicism within our village.

His more or less faithful Squire Richard Fairfax also resides within our village. He is quite wealthy by our standards as a major land owner. If you wish to purchase some land, or are seeking employment, he's the one to see!

There is also his trusty maid, his best servant on his lot, Karyn Wells poking about.

At this time, we also seek the role of a young woman, never married (and who shows no real interest in any gentleman caller within the village), who comes to the Midwife seeking advice and an "explanation" for her "unnatural inclinations towards the same sex". We ask that this hopeful role player is at least "bi playful" and "masochistic willing" as this role play with draw upon those two features between these two characters.

We're also willing to consider other villagers who's role would blend well with our story. Please note, while most of us aren't the best history buffs out there, we do seek something resembling late 17th Century England is a small, ignorant village.

There would be no "high positions of state", but maybe a traveling Witch Hunter could show up later in the tale? Also, we'd like to keep the male/female ratio fairly balanced out so everyone has at least one person to write with!


The role play story will be up by early next week so we can give those interested a chance to post here!

The village's Cunningwoman and Midwife:


Caitlin Marie Hay, known as Goodie Hay in her home land Scotland, is a refugee to England trying to escape her past that haunts her not knowing history will soon repeat itself! Widowed young, she tries to hide this fact in her new land for fear of persecution once more.

She stands at a small five foot one inch, and is quite thin. A waif, some have called her. Her aparance is true to her Scot heratige with pale, fair skin, very long, flowing pale red hair, and fierce emerald green eyes!

Hi, I'm quite interested in taking the role of the young woman. I'm not sure exactly if there is a set standard already for what specifics her role would evolve into, here's how I see it:

Mirelle Kinch, a petite girl of 20 felt different her whole life. While other girls her own age began chasing after boys, Mirelle found herself enraptured by the girls. Often, she would find herself under a tree, or in the shade of a buiding, shyly watching and wondering how other girls differed, in their bodies, from her own.

As she grew, and developed into a young woman, men started to take notice of the subtle hips swishing beneath her dresses, and the soft curves of her breasts. Or how her fiery red hair brushed the top of her buttocks when she ran. Mirelle, however never turned her eyes towards these men, and in fact, hardly noticed their interest in her.

She felt inwardly frustrated by the growing sexual urges that ran through her head and down her veins. Was she abnormal? Sickly? While her friends lusted after boys, why did she lust after them? Perhaps she would visit the cunningwoman, or, perhaps, she should confide in the preacher.

This is me...

The Housekeeper to the Squire
Name: Karyn Wells
Age: Just turned 20
5'5"
130 pounds
Description: Fair skin, Deep green eyes, Dark chestnut brown hair usually pulled back in a pony tail or braid...
Does not think of herself as pretty... more plain than anything.. and tends to avoid sexual contact... she figuring no one would want her..

Has been working as a housekeeper/maid/child care since 16... Been working for the Squire since she turned 18...

Comes from a very poor family.. most of whom are gone now.. only ones left are a grandfather and 3 female cousins.. the 3 females have managed to marry into very well-to-do families and have little to do with Karyn or her grandfather..

She is quiet.. but watches and hears most everything.. she is loyal to the Squire since he takes pretty good care of her... (but who knows.. that may change depending on how the story plays out... and where the characters go.. if that is ok.. )

Calyxxx, toyMaster is on that annoying Brit time () and the other "creator" to this idea. After he's up tomorrow I'll be able to let you know what he thinks.

Two major points for the person seeking this role is that she is at least "bi playful" since her character and mine would intertwine, and that she at least have an "interest" in Sadomasochism as her character would be put through some trying times.

Basic plot between the two characters is yours comes to mine for that "advice" and when my character tells her to embrace her feelings instead of ignore them it freaks her out at that moment so she runs off and later accuses mine as being a witch. In turn, my character claims yours to be an accomplice.


Again, either toyMaster or I will let you know what was decided tomorrow.

JD, Richard Fairfax is spoken for...which is why I mentioned that character by name. There are four, including myself (and if X still wishes to be the village Preacher), as well as toyMaster and Ambrosia.

When I said we'd take into consideration other characters that could fit into the flow of our village, I meant that the prospective role player would come up with a role themselves.


Calyxxx it looks like the role is yours. You can name and describe her as you wish, just make her younger than my character (which is an "old maid" at 28), never married, etc.

Hopefully we'll get the story up by the beginning of this up coming week. I just want to wait a couple more days to see if others have an interest. (And waiting for my next day off so I'll have more time to post! lol)

Hi Calyxxx. Your surname is fine, very 17th century English. Howerver, I think you could do with altering the first name. Even today,in Northern England, you wouldn't expect to find a Mirelle.

Also, I'm not so sure that at that time you would have the knowledge to realise you were gay. Maybe a tad less on the full on eager dyke. A tomboy perhaps, a little confused, plenty of boy friends but no boyfriends.

I think this may be an interesting role. I first need to double check to see if we still have a RPer for the Priest or if we need to open that role.

Okay... I have a feeling that most of you aren't awake at 6 am Central time on a Sunday morning, so I figure I'll start up the role play either late this afternoon/evening (if I manage to stay awake! lol) or by Monday morning.

And, on another note, it looks like the role of the village's preacher is now open again if any male is interested in this role. I'll still try to get the story up by tomorrow and we can add the preacher in later if someone does come along to claim the role.
