I'm out of touch. I listened to country as a sprog as it was what my folks listened to, and I remember artists like Merle Haggard, Mel Tillis, etc. There is no Johnny Cash in new country. This song could play on a pop station as it doesn't say country to me. Sure does make money though.

That said, the message of the song is strong. I have people in my life that I wish I could get to listen to this message and believe it. No, not everyone is beautiful, but a whole lot of people in this world are and don't give themselves credit for it.

And the ones that aren't beautiful are that way because they've allowed themselves to get ugly on the inside.

Yes country music has changed alot over the years.there are still the good ole country singers such as George Strait and more..Country is more like pop with alot of the younger singers..I do agree

I myself need to listen to this song from time to time as I don't believe it myself..hearing this song last night made me realize this is something that I am and I think it is a great message for others....

Yup, George Strait is good stuff.

I've got a long drive ahead of me. I think I might bring along the Man in Black to keep me company for part of it.

I'm also a fan of 'I am Woman' by Helen Reddy (?sp?) 'I hope you Dance' by LeeAnne Womac and 'This One's for the Girls' (can't remember artist)

And Johnny Cash is good stuff. Some pop country tells a decent story. But there's just something about the oldies and goodies. There's a grit and strightforwardness to the artists as people and the songs seems more genuine. Too many current artists have the hype but no substance and I think it detracts from their music. So many good songs tho...*wanders off humming*

This One's for The Girls is by Martina McBride.
I love country music, plenty of great songs to choose from.

Right now I am very into the kiss-off songs. Such as "Picture to Burn" & "Should've Said No" by Taylor Swift, "Love Don't Live Here" & "Woman Scorned" by Lady Antebellum, and "Gunpowder and Lead" by Miranda Lambert.

I am with you on the Love Don't Live Here Anymore and Gunpowder and Lead too...

Love this song..It helps remind me that I am beautiful.. Sir tells me all the time.. and it is hard to see and espically now that Ive lost all the weight.. I still see the "fat girl" ... When youve seen that person most of your life.. It is hard to not see that person anymore.. But with the friends I have and the new ones ive made.. Im truly blessed. Thanks kaykat for posting this song...

I am glad that I could post this for you all...It is hard to see we are beautiful sometimes and this song reminds us that we are beautiful and we need to realize it..

Yeah, I, uh.... I am not a big fan of the country, save for Charlie Daniels. Closest I get is Southern Rock. Though I have been known to throw on some David Allen Coe from time to time. Especially since he's performed the Best Country and Western song, You Never Called Me By My Name. Should you get the chance to listen to it, please do.
