A rare public schism between the GOP and the Christian Right

The GOP, accustomed to pandering to Fox News "All Fear, All The Time" message, chose to demonize Syrian refugees early and often....give their constituencies what they want, right?

Wrong.

Nine Christian refugee organizations, including two of the biggest heavy hitting hard right ones (Evangelical World Relief and the Council of Catholic Bishops) have publicly denounced the fear-mongering from the GOP and their candidates.

Evidently, Christian compassion trumps love of money. This does not bode well for the Republican party.

Pandering to Christianity for votes and actually living according to Christian principles are two different things.

Remember last year, when staffers with Christian-affiliated medical organizations were among those who were brought back to the U.S. with Ebola? It was the far right (and of course, Trump) who wanted to leave them to die in Africa.
