im still new to lit and even though im happilly involved in a single rp right now, id like to find my way into as many as i can handle at once. the problem i find here is that, in order to get into rps i would need a venue with which to find people looking for partners. while this is possible in the "sexual roleplaying" forum it doesnt seem very well organized and i have a feeling that most writing partners and rp ideas are arranged in PM. i came to the moderators to ask if there was a way we could get a...caddy shack of the sexual roleplaying forum? an "rpers wanted" sort of thing?

i can handle a flat "no" so dont sweat it if it isnt possible. i also thought that in my bringing this up, i might be inadvertantly cut in to some sort of rping loop (what an underhanded way to make friends) lol. any replies (by anyone) are most appreciated.

Hello Droogie, *S
I'm not a moderator by any means, but perhaps I can help with some info. until they reply about having a istings of stories seeking players, ala your caddy shack idea.

Any story not listed as specifically "Closed for" is open to one and all interested.
If you find one you like perpare a character and background and either PM to the story starter or post it as an OOC asking if the character is acceptable and you could join in. Bet you'll be very welcome.
Also any "Casting Calls" are seeking characters for that specific story so check those posts too.

As for making friends, Hi my new friend. *BG

Hello Droogie and welcome to SRP forum. :)

Let me see if I can answer everything you asked or might want to know. PP01 explained about 'new threads' and 'casting calls' on the forum. You don't need an invitation to join an OPEN thread (closed threads aren't open unless you PM the thread starter and ask permission to join and are given the go-ahead, but it isnt often private threads open up)

Being the only active moderator here, I can tell you we aren't 'directors'. We are like Lit Police. Basicly we're only here to make sure none of the rules are broken. We don't tell people where to go, how to function etc. We'd be chased off if we tried :D

The best places to social and mingle (also to find out about stories going on and opening up) is in Rick's Rooftop Lounge and in China Pearl Bath and Teahouse. Those two are ooc threads. I think there is a third, but I can't recall the exact name.

A casting call thread was made once before but it did not get far off the ground and stay on the first few pages of lit's srp. The best idea is to 1. Join an ooc thread 2. PM writers you are interested in writing with. 3. Read new opening threads (the ones with the yellow envelopes before them) and introduce a character into the new story. Granted make sure to read the first post in the thread to be certain it is open to anyone.

It might be a little hard to join an ooc thread, worried about some things maybe? But they are all warm people here and very nice. And I've never seen someone NOT welcome a new comer into the ooc threads. :) good luck, happy surfing/writing. Anything else feel free to ask.

Sweetp

Damned right you'd be "chased off" as you said here, "We'd be chased off if we tried :D " and with a severe and long tongue lashing too... oh wait, that's why that huge grin. How silly of me to forget pea. *LOL*
