As a guy I have always had one major flaw in my writing. My writing is always geared toward males but I am curious. How would you describe your ideal guy?

Well, how do you normally describe your characters? Frankly, I think it's better when an author leaves many details out. Let the reader develop their own "ideal" man or woman! :)

I actually don't look for a specific type of personality, because I've been attracted to all types.
I look more for someone who can make me feel things. Like whenever I see him I'm scared, but
excited, or when he looks at me I can't breathe and can imagine the way he'll look when he's
touching me. So he can be like the biggest asshole in the world, but if he can make feel sexy,
comfortable, safe, giddy, etc, he is my ideal guy...for the time being ;).

The men I find attractive vary greatly in appearance, but the personality traits common in them all are confidence, patience, intelligence and a quick wit.

Well, my taste isn't the same as an average woman. So I'll describe what I like, but I'm not sure how useful it will be.

Ideally attractive male love interest in a romance: He is pale, slender, with long hair (don't care if it's straight or curly, any color other than brown or orange). He is either a leader (but somewhat alienated from his followers) or he is the trusted lieutenant, right-hand man, or independent agent of a leader (sometimes this leader is the story's villain). He is very intelligent, he's been lonely for a long time, he's kind of bitter and sarcastic because his natural idealism has been severely frustrated by life. But he hasn't given up all hope, actually he is motivated by some kind of burning goal. He's kind of high-strung, impatient with people less intelligent than him and comes up with sharp but very clever insults. He has some sort of emotional scars from his past, either because he was in unrequited love with someone or because he has been treated with prejudice. Although afraid of being rejected, deceived, or otherwise ill-treated, inwardly he wants to have a lover to romance and pamper, and he likes children and wants to have a family. Possibly against his own will and/or better judgment, he comes to care deeply about the other main character and see that character as an essential part of his future.

To me, looks are not as important. First, he must be smart. Seduction begins with the brain. He must be funny, confident and caring. He must have good manners and believe in mutual satisfaction.

I agree with sweetdreamstories with not having too much information. It can be a little annoying to try to get into a story where the man described follows your list of least favorite attributes--tell what's important and necessary, but leave a little wiggle room for the reader's imagination. Sometimes it's like reading a physical around here: 6'3", 210 lbs, black hair to just below... etc. I don't need numbers or descriptions that don't forward the story! Say tall, lean, dark haired (or whatever description works for you), and having a damned good beer after a long day at work. Works for me, anyway.

Fit, cute, confident, and nice. If a man possesses the first 3, he nearly never is genuinely nice. He doesn't have to be a model or anything. He shouldn't be brash or arrogant. He should take care of himself, be somewhat attractive, confident in his intelligence, and genuinely be a nice human being. That's all:)

I personally don't have a "set" type I'm into.... the circumstances and his attitude have more to say for him than what he looks like. I have no trouble enjoying looking at a beautiful face or body, but as an artist, sometimes that distracts me! ;-) If you write well about a person that's confident and considerate, (which can be done even if they are controlling someone), not weighed down by guilt or fear or impressing same on the women, I'm there! My kind of guy!

My type

I am sorry but that is hard for me because it changes with my mood. I am married so if I am thinking about forever then I think about my husband. If I am imagining a fling or rape then everything is different.
:rose:

Confidence is big with me, as is intelligence and a sense of humor. Physically, I'm attracted to men who are fit, but within that broad categorization, he could be light skinned, dark, tall, heavy or lean, etc. Also... the eyes hold a lot for me.
