Is it true that American women find the British accent an incredible turn-on? What is it about it?

I have some friends from England and they have cool accents.
But, we always joke with them that they sound so proper & they speak in a very low voice.

So whenever I think British accents, they pop into mind and I can not help but smile... they are hilarious !

I love the British accents of men more than British women actually. Though the latter is nice, there's something about the male British accent.

Ah, but there are other accents that also are rather hot.

(Having a very US midwest, maybe even a bland voice I enjoy those 'exotic' tones.)

Which accent. I hate posh accents but the accents from the countryside turn me on. Lancastrian and liverpodlian especially. I love Scotish accents, the imperceptable the better, but my favorite of all is a kilarney accent. Keep that royal upper class oxfordian crap away from me. I don't think it's my boyfriend's British accent that attracted me initially. I remember it being just him. The accent was an erotic bonus, but not the selling point (but quite a bonus, don't misunderstand).

Now, there are definitely some accents that put me off, and high-pitched voices, and very nasal ones, and and and ....

I've heard from several British men that Brits generally find the way American women talk annoying. I think it's based on a certain kind of American accent that they just generalize and imagine we all have (think nasal, annoying, loud tourist voice). Luckily, I don't have it and don't get any complaints.

I see your point, although I GENERALLY find the accent on men to be more annoying. I spent a 14 hour bus ride in Nepal with a guy from Louisiana (I'm sure it's a nice place) and his accent drove me totally nuts! It may have had something to do with the Valium that he'd also taken....
