Every once in a while when I get into a very stressful circumstance my balls start to hurt about a half an hour later. I read someplace that when large wild cats go to battle there balls braw up close to their bodies in an effort, it is thought, to keep them out of harms way during the fight.

I believe that is what happens to me when I feel that old "fight or flight" thingie but I'm always too busy trying to stay alive to reach down and check.

This has nothing at all to do with that "but it's cold" excuse we use from time to time.

Anyone have any words of wisdom?

According to Wikipedia, this is called cremasteric reflex and is common in mammals in response to temperature fluctuations or stress. See the entry on testicles for more.

good reading, I knew how it worked but not what it was called - thanks

I have never heard another male mention the discomfort. Have others experienced it? Or is it just another one of the many things we men don't talk about.

Personally I've never noticed any discomfort post-stress as you describe. Makes perfect sense that it could happen though.

thanks- maybe I just fixate on my "equipment" a bit much....

naaaaaaaaa, I fixate just about the right amount.

When I am stressed, I usually do not think about my balls all that much.
