This question has probably been posted or answered elsewhere on Lit, but I didn't find it.
My question: Someone smarter than I from this site has suggested that I try to get one of my stories published (as in they pay me, lol). If anyone has any experience or advice concerning this, then I would be very glad to hear it. If there is a good list of publishers online, tell me please, as my searching is only yielding a headache.

- Regards

With the exception of eXcessica.com (which publishes short-story length and up), my experience is that the paying erotica short story publishers come to you.

But one of the best sources for submitting short stories is http://www.duotrope.com/, which has erotica listings.

Really? Thanx, Pilot.

Duotrope is pretty much the best first stop for anyone wanting to look into the short story market.

Most of the offers I've had for pay (and free) for erotica (most coming from what they've seen on Lit.) have come from start-up Web sites wanting to frontload their story files and get them going. So, if you see likely ones starting up, I guess you could pitch them on possibilities.

sr71plt, thanks for your reply. I now have a starting point. Two publishers have contacted me previously, one was a b-s scam thing, and the other was a porn publisher who offered me $200 for ten stories of around 5,000 words. I turned it down, as I figured, somehow, that kind of money would not buy me a holiday apartment in the Algarve!

Thanks again :)
