A possible incest story

For the past few weeks I've been bouncing around an Incest/Taboo story in my head and jotting down notes. After pacing around in a flustered mess a lot and then spending a week bedridden with pneumonia, I think I'm ready to put something down on paper.

This is the gist. Here goes. I need your help.

The story involves a nuclear family. 21+ year old brother, 18-year-old college bound sister, mom, dad. Nothing out of the ordinary here so far. It begins with the oldest brother, who has just graduated from college. He is driving home depressed because after graduation he went on a trip to celebrate with the girl of his dreams, planning to propose to her. She dumped him right before he could pull the ring from his pocket. He spent the rest of his vacation recuperating by himself in the hotel room, probably numbing the pain with a bit of drink.

Now he's coming home to relax and finishing putting the pieces of himself back together. Brother immediately notices something out of place: his little sister, whom he has known as being quiet and introverted their whole lives, is now bubbly, chipper, and full of confidence. She's a completely different person. Certain clues, hints picked up at the dinner table or words used, put the brother onto a trail where he suspects something larger going on and wants to figure out the big picture.

The big picture, as brother discovers when he accidentally walks in (and then quickly hides behind the doorjamb) is that the sister has been sexually awakened by mom and dad. The brother stumbles upon a family tradition where all the of-age, college bound girls have been willingly welcomed into adulthood in this manner.

I suppose the families do this for the boys as well, but as someone I met in Chat suggested, the brother either didn't spend enough time at home or went off to school too fast to have mother or whomever get his dick wet.

Anyway, brother is apprehensive. This isn't the relax and heal stay at home that he wanted, this is a nightmare. Then he realizes, ever so slowly, that his sister is hitting on him, trying to draw him into the family fun without using too many words. It starts to grow on him and wear down his willpower. He has dreams about her. There are teasing moments where they accidentally run into each other naked but don't hop into bed like the typical stroker.

One thing leads to another. Tension heats up. Raw consummation. Happy ending.

Now, here's where I feel like I need work. I read Hypoxia's essay "What Is Incest?" as well as other feedback around here, and I am in general agreement that an 18-year-old doesn't just randomly hop into bed with her parents on a magical whim. I'm trying to figure out how to approach the sister being inducted into the family tradition in a more realistic fashion while avoiding squick and still making it appealing to the wanking gallery.

I'm not a big fan of the Family Incest Ritual trope. At 18th birthday ceremony, parent fucks child, because tradition. Uh huh. But how did the tradition begin and survive? Rituals have histories.

And what is the setting? IMHO the trope won't work in generic USA suburbia. It *could* work in a remote, isolated locale, like Sawney Bean's lost corner of Scotland circa 1500. Family fucks family because there's nobody else around and nothing else to do.

An author *could* just present the ritual as a given... but IMHO it's hard to work that into your bro+sis storyline. The kids must have been raised to be prepared for the ritual or else they'll freak out. That short-circuits the element of surprise when Big Bro returns.

In a generic setting it's simpler just to drop the ritual. Big bro Bert was indeed dumped just before he graduated a distant college at age 22; he returns home depressed. (Home is in a rural setting, maybe a family farm.) Little sister Szuzi had a similar high school graduation, dumped by her guy. Both feel pretty low.

Szuzi has always worshiped her 4-year-older brother and he's never minded his little sister who has just blossomed into maturity. They console each other for their loss, grow closer, have those accidental nude encounters, become more comfortable together over the summer vacation, go skinnydipping like when they were little kids -- but they're not little now. Incest ensues.

What next? What do they do with their lives? Do they live together, and where, and how openly? A few recent threads here have explored the possibilities. But now the story is merely drama and not a deviant ritual vehicle. Fewer moving parts to maintain.

I've been thinking about it with the mindset of trying to get the whole family involved in a big incest orgy, but a bro/sis with similar circumstances coming together over the summer...there's something there closer to believably. Yeah, problem whenever a ritual is involved is that the ritual becomes the focus or the reader will wish it was the focus since such a thing would need a good chunk of the story devoted to it to make it believable (unless you made it utterly ridiculous like I saw with one where it was an illuminati plot and had underwater bases set up to oversee incestous rituals).

If you want more family members involved, it might need to take a different route. Maybe they have sex but brother decides it can't happen again and goes away for awhile. When he comes back, he walks in on her being double-teamed by their parents. Parents admit that a little after he left, his sister admitted what went on but rationalized it as just sex between two consenting adults who just happened to be siblings. Parents were shocked but she then ended up seducing both of them with the promise of a young consenting partner who was up for anything. After they got over the taboo of it they found themselves addicted to sex with their gorgeous daughter and have been having an active sex life.

Bro confronts sister who admits that she partially is doing this to get back at him for abandoning her at such an emotional time for her but also has been keeping her sex life up with her parents since they are more caring and loving than her previous boyfriends and don't treat her like a freak for loving sex with her family like she believes her brother is.

Now, bro has to explain his actions and possibly that he wants more from his sister than a quick fuck. Meanwhile, he has to deal with his parents, who are okay with him fucking his sister but not with them ending up as lifelong lovers (since they believe this is just a phase their daughter needs to get out of and that she will meet the right guy or girl and be back to normal).

Though really, focusing on just the siblings is the easiest and probably best route to take

I've completely revised my story idea, trying to aim for more realism this time. Here goes.

As the story unfolds, little encounters happen, i.e. accidentally walking in when she's changing, running into her half-naked at the bathroom, etc. The genetic sibling relationship gradually turns into a mutual attraction. It starts with Brian not being able to get one thought loop of a feature out of his head: the fact that Veronica has big tits and pierced nipples. Their first give-in to temptation ends at him jerking off on her lovely naked breasts. Guilt ensues, but neither can stop going back to the other, upping the sex acts each time. Mom and dad remain unaware. Or do they?

I assume Brian is taking a post-grad summer break before... I dunno, where does he go from there? Back to distant uni for a masters program? On to a corporate job, or a slot in the family business? Do Mom & Dad force both from the house when their incest is discovered? (For realism, skip any parental incest.) If he leaves the household, does Veronica move in with him? Are they separated, then reunified? Do they face pressure from family, friends, society?

I'm writing a piece where the incest is publicly obscured with brother, sister, and their female cousin living together in a uni town. To all around they're merely a small family unit saving money, not siblings living in sin. The drama: a threat of revelation. The resolution: ain't got there yet. In another story the sister invites her rambling brother to settle with her and her female roommate (for private sex) -- for resolution, he rambles on, a cliffhanger.

IMHO the trick with any sibling incest tale is, where to take it? I see hanging endings.

Even though it's not my fetish I have written a fair amount of Incest. As mentioned, many have hanging endings, no real resolution, but they usually aim at long-term relations, not just fuck-and-run.
