I took this shot in Copenhagen. At the time, I thought it was too funny for words :p

I have alot more. I'll post them as I scan them and retouch them :)

A picture of Hammerfest!

This is the first fish I ever caught in my life! It was caught near Hammerfest, the northernmost town in Norway (I think in Europe too), in the North Sea. I have no idea what kind it is :)

I'm very bad at smiling on demand. Hence the phony smile :)

Please tell there was a moment of silence after the killing of this defenseless fish or the mermaids will be coming after you! :)

You mean like this one? Anyone you know? A cousin maybe? Aunt or sister? :D

This is a shot of the famous Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen. A bit disappointing, but it's sort of an obligatory tourist sight when you visit the city :)

From here it looks like a Scottish Golden Scaled Lesser Tadpole. They used to be found in numbers along the banks of Loch Leven, near the town of Kinlochleven, but were thought to have become extinct in 1965 when the last one was caught by an 11 year old boy on a camping trip and was cooked over an open fire for his supper.

You've either re-discovered them or killed one of the remaining few that may still be around.

Either way the mermaids will still be after you for good or bad!

Hi Gleam, Long time no chat. I am back on and off, so we can proceed with our PM's. I'll write you one, when I am done here...

Can I use that picture of yours on my Mermaid webpage that I am building? I promise to give you tons and tons of credit if I can!

*muah*

Good to see you again. :)

A Scottish Golden Scaled Lesser Tadpole? In Norway? Am I reading too much into the name?

Nice pics, Gleam!

You're almost as cute as that fish you caught. ;)

And you know, of all the things you could have "after" you, mermaids aren't bad at all!

Oh yeah, it's a compliment. ;)

So Gleam, if you were in Hammerfest, you MUST have made it up to Nordkapp. Got any pictures of that?

I forgot to mention that they were also noted for their long distance swiiming ability. In fact the Scottish Silver Scaled Larger Tadpole, a close relative, was clocked in at 8 days 9 hours 22.5 minutes after swimming twice around the world in January 1972.

It was tagged of course and after the event was known as the Silver Streak in common parlance.;)

I think they made a film about it....
