In a DM conversation with someone attending a funeral with their SO (the SO's family member), I described attending a funeral as a "plus one" as a "noble calling". I hate funerals, and having a plus one is definitely a plus.
Then as I lay there suffering from insomnia, I ruminated on how it might make an interesting story to write about someone who makes a living hiring themselves out to be a "plus one" to accompany people to funerals.
Does somebody mistake their service as a different kind of escort service?
If so, what shenanigans ensue?
Or do they simply empathize with a particular client so much that they fall in lust? Then shenigans ensue...
