I am putting the finishing touches on a story about a school of magic.

Yeah, I know it's been done before, but this one I have planned out well.

I have spent some time writing the "handbook" for reference by authors who wish to try their hands at this universe.

The magic is straighforward:
Each Major Magical Affinity, has sub specialties, sich as Crystallomancy and Metalomancy as sub-specialties under Geomancy.

Elemental magic,

Geomancy, or Earth Magic.

Pyromancy, or Fire Magic

Aquamancy, or Water Magic

Aeromancy, or Air Magic.

Non-Elemental magic:

Biomancy, Life magic, divided into sub-catagories:

Floramancy, or Plant Magic

Faunamancy, or Animal magic

Anthromancy, or Human Magic: again devided into sub- catagories:

Haemomancy, Blood magic

Shael 'Nar , Sex Magic

Sadomancy, Pain Magic

Necromancy, Death Magic

Misc. Magic:

Solaromancy , or Sun Magic

Selenomancy, or Moon Magic.


You get the idea.

What I was thinking was that the school couild be a background for stories involving the teachers, students, etc.


This would be a university level school, so erotic encounters would be expected, and in some cases required.

The basic reference and the first story will be posted within a week. And will include descriptions of the various types of magic, basic rituals, basic spell structure, and a loose outline of the heirarchy of the school itself.

In the meantime, feel free to have fun with this idea, modify it as you want,

And please add any suggestions or ideas that you might have.

As far as true Magick goes there area a couple more catagories you can play off of.

Dragon Magick
Faerie Magick
Certain healing arts like Reiki, I have heard of some Reiki puplis using the energy transfers between their partners to heighten the exprience, pleasure and emotional bonding that comes during sex.
There is also the study of the divination, most popular is the Tarot card but there are others like runes, crystal balls, mirror or water scrying.

When you deal with magick or make a world based off it there is alot of different angles to play with.

Like I'm a Rock/Gem/Crystal Magick person myself who also dives into the study of runes. And while could cover rock magick under earth magick they are really 2 different studies.

If you add Rock magick to your list I will be happy to send you a list of all the rocks I have played with or researched their magickal meanings. By far I don't have them all but I do have one of the more comprehensive list than most.

I also know people who direct their studies towards amulets and talismans, than again that might be in a tool building class.

But I digress, good luck on your "magic" school stories! Let me know if my magickal knoweldge will be any help.

That sounds like fun - I'm looking forward to reading your story, and may add to the general mayhem.

I'm working on a shaman story now, by request, so I'm thinking sort of along the same lines.

shamans bridge on a higher type of ritual magick, very beautiful and indepth if you ever have a chance to watch a real shaman work.

I was looking over your "magic" list again. And believe it or not I really think who ever takes sex magic to write on is going to have the hardest time portraying it properly. Sex magick isn't about the pleasure you give or recieve and can hours to accomplish the true task...and of course the true task is to build up the magickal energy of the two people than once you have it built up to put that energy into a spell. But you can't focus on the pleasure of the action at all or you will more than likely have the spell backfire.
But that is one magick that is a lot of fun practicing for.

I always love it when people who are really into magickal usage write stories about it. With all the confusion between fantasy magic and magick, it's refreshing to see it portrayed from a realistic view.
