Features: Brown hair, blue eyes, semi-tan skin. Thin wire-frame glasses.

Jake looked up at the rather large house on Edotto Way, holding a printed out advertisement. He looked down at it and sighed. "8614 Edotto Way...This is the place." he muttered under his breath.
His friend (Simply a friend, nothing more. She was already married, anyway.) had signed him up--without Jake's consent--to take some sort of "lessons". Apparently there was some young woman who lets a guy stay with her for an unspecified amount of time and turn him "From dorky geek to sexy stud!" as the ad claimed.
He would have simply said no, but his friend had used the damned puppy-eyes. And since the plans had already been made and the money had been paid, there was no going back. He steeled himself and walked up the steps to the house slowly, raised a fist, and knocked on the door lightly, hoping no-one was home.

(Open for one female to play the role of the teacher. Just jump in if interested.)
(P.S: Yes, I know that I made the same thread a while back, but my partner lost interest during my horribly long absense. I'm back now though.)

Name: Amanda Reynolds, aka Amy
Age: 27
Height: 5'7"
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Green
Appearance: Shoulder length blonde hair, usually held up in a ponytail. Tan skin, pretty fit, not too busty but she has curves where it counts. She wears glasses when she needs to read, but otherwise she wears contacts. Her outfit consists of whatever she feels like wearing, but for a woman of her profession that tends to mean rather revealing 'professional' attire.

Bio: Amy attended a rather boring 4 year college where she obtained a degree in Fine Arts, but she didn't know what she was going to do with it. As it stood, her lifestyle was rather sporadic, but she knew how to have fun. Many of her friends often told her she should be a fashion designer, or model... but that didn't really appeal to her. Recently, however, she has been helping out with the friends of her friends, and tuning them into party animals for the night life.

Personality: Good natured and respectable, but what makes her stand out is her enormous energy and her ability to adapt to any situation that's thrown at her.

(hope this is ok. And she's currently wearing a dark longsleeved shirt, jeans, and around her neck is a silver chain, a heart attached to the end of it.)
---
Amy was sitting in the kitchen reading one of her books when the knock at the door caught her attention. She set the book down, got to her feet and proceeded to open the door. After unlocking it she moved back as the large wooden barrier moved on its hinges and stood near the wall. She smiled as a younger male was standing on her steps.

"Hi, can I help you?" Amy asked him. She looked at him for a second and then she remember who he was and why he was there.

"Ugh, sorry." she said apologizing. "I haven't gotten much sleep lately. You must be... Jacob." she stated and nodded her head. She moved aside so he could come in.

Jake blinked, stunned at the attractive woman who had answered the door. She wasn't exactly how he had expected her to look...then again, he had no idea how he expected her to look. Somewhat along the lines of a middle-aged woman who had some sort of psychological way to "turn on his natural attraction" or whatever lies that the ads on the television claimed. This obviously wasn't the case.
He finally snapped back to reality as she stepped to the side, obviously meaning for him to come in. He hesitated a moment before stepping through the portal and into her home, standing awkwardly in the foyer.

Jake stepped inside and Amy closed the door behind him as he moved forward a bit into the foyer. Her house was pretty well decorated, and she prided herself in that fact. I mean she didn't earn an enormous amount of money, but she got by pretty well.

"Want something to drink?" she asked him as she moved passed him and towards the kitchen. As she walked she tried to remember what exactly he was here for. In any case she made her way to the kitchen, opened the refridgerator and pulled out some juice. She got out a glass and waited for Jake to come inside.

Jake stepped into the kitchen, trying not to make it obvious that he was admiring her decoration. At her question, he nodded. "Yes, please." he said politely, acting like he was in yet another class rather than...whatever one would call this kind of tutoring. Now that he reiterated the thought of what he was hear to learn, it sounded absolutely insane. Well, it was too late to go back now. Far too late.

Amy nodded as she turned around and grabbed a second glass from the cupboard. The kitchen was well furnished: marble floors, wooden cabinets with marble counters, a well stocked fridge and pantry, a table that could fit around 5 people comfortably, and several cabinets that littered the walls. Holding the glass steady she poured in some iced tea and placed it on the counter. She didn't know if he wanted sugar or lemon for it, so she decided to wait and see if he'd ask.

At any rate, she smiled as she picked up the glass and handed it to him.

"You're welcome." she added. She leaned back against a counter as she looked him over. The glasses were... well unnecessary. Contacts would add to him, she thought.

"Have you ever thought about contacts?" she asked him, taking a sip of her drink.

Jake sipped his iced tea, thanking her politely. He never really had anything with iced tea, unless on very rare circumstances when he decided he felt like having sugar. This wasn't one of those times.
At her question, he shrugged. "Eh, I heard they were a bit of a hassle and there's the risk of dropping them and stepping on them and such. These are easier to keep track of." he said, taking another sip. "Besides, people say the glasses made me look smart."
He chuckled softly and looked around, admiring the marble floors.

Amy nodded. It was true that they could be a hassle, but only if you didn't know how to treat them. With proper care they could be a real asset to anyone with eye problems. When he said that the glasses made him look smart, she held back a chuckle.

"Yes, well, you don't just a book by its cover." she said with a smile. "Don't get me wrong, I have a pair of reading glasses too. But contacts can be really helpful if you just want to get out, and if you know how to use them right then they can be really great." she added, setting her glass down.

"So. I know why you're here. Question is, do you?"

Jake scratched his chin, setting down his glass. "Well, I suppose I'm here because I need to improve my social life...or get one." he sighed. "I just don't know how to interact with people, I guess."
He shrugged again and pulled his glasses off the bridge of his nose, wiping a speck of tea off the left lense before putting them back on his face, looking back up at her. "I think that's why I'm here."

Amy folded her arms across her chest as she waited for his response. Her eyes followed his glass as Jake set it down on the counter.

"Well, I suppose I'm here because I need to improve my social life...or get one. I just don't know how to interact with people, I guess." Jake said, and then proceeded to clean his lenses. Amy nodded at him. Yeap, that's why he was here, and she would try and help him out. She had seen a lot worse before, so this shouldn't be too hard. She smiled as she unwrapped her arms, setting them behind her.

"I think that's why I'm here." he added, his glasses once again back on the brim of his nose.

"Well then." Amy said with a smile. "Let's get started." she said while patting him on the back as she moved towards the living room. She beckoned him to follow, and she walked into the furnished den.

Jake's visage turned slightly reddish as Amy patted him on the back. He nodded and followed her into the den, pushing his glasses a little higher onto his face. "Alright. So where do we start?" he asked, not knowing where exactly one would begin with such things. Amy seemed to know what she was doing, however, so he figured he didn't have to worry about it.

"Well, I was going to suggest the glasses first... but since you don't have any other alternatives right now I think we'll just keep them on." she said as she flopped onto one of her comfy couches. She put her head in her hands as she relaxed, and Jake stood by one of the cushioned chairs. Amy chuckled slightly.

"You can sit down, you know." she said and then stared at the ceiling.

"Ok so." she said, sitting up. "What kind of music do you listen to?" she asked him, starting off with some filler questions.

Jake sat down in a cushioned armchair, still sitting up straight attentively.

"What kind of music do you listen to?" was her first question.

He scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Well, I listen to almost anything. Foreign songs, rock, metal, classical, baroque, bossa nova..." He looked back at her and shrugged. "I don't really like oldies rock though. Or western, or rap. Well, I like a few rap songs, but only the ones that don't have to do with 'slapping hoes' and 'busting caps' and those songs that are basically a shopping list describing all the furniture and stuff that someone got for his house."
He stopped there. "Sorry, I started rambling."

"Ok, well for one you need to stop scratching your chin." Amy said, trying not to sound too harsh but it was kind of odd to watch him do that, probably out of habit. Girls will want you to stay comfortable and that will make us feel more receptive to your answers." she said smiling.

"Foreign music huh? That's actually pretty rare. And the correct answer would be that you don't really have a preference. You might not like Western or oldies but chances are your date might." she added. "Although I agree with the rap part, but that's my own personal thoughts, I think they're mostly just noise." she said.

Jake nodded, making a conscious effort to keep his hand at his side. "Sorry. I've been doing that ever since I was six."
He leaned foreward a little, taking mental notes of what she had to say. He knew there was a possibility that his date would like the things he didn't, but he didn't really think that it would offend them so much if he just stated his own opinion. Nevertheless, he made a mark of this in his mind for the future.

"Don't get me wrong or anything, cause if there's another thing we don't like it's an indecisive man. So don't just drop all your preferences and be a helpless lapdog." she said with a giggle.

"Ok, I know you'll probably hate me later but we're going to listen to some more popular songs. Well not now, but later." she said, a twinkle in her eyes. "Variety of music is always a plus." she finished, then stared back at the ceiling. "Let's see..." she said again, deep in thought.

"Hmm... where would you take me out to eat if you asked me to dinner?" Amy asked, sitting up again.

Jake's hand moved to scratch his chin, but he stayed it, keeping it on his knee. Her next question was expected, but he still didn't know how to answer it. "Well, I'd probably ask where you would like to go, but if you didn't decide I guess I'd pick italian or chinese."
He looked back at her, trying to predict her answer by her expression.

"I love italian." Amy said, reminiscing about some of her favorite meals. "Can't really ever go wrong with that. And Chinese is good if you want to order in sometimes. But well if you were to ask me to dinner then it'd be assumed that you had a place picked out and perhaps even reserved." she added. "I mean if we were dating for quite a while then the 'formalness' wouldn't be as much of a factor." she said.

"Want to go?" Amy asked Jake.

"Want to go?"

Her question caught him off guard. "Go? Go where?"
He managed to piece the question and the current topic together after a moment. "Oh, I see."
He hesitated for a moment. He didn't know why, but it wasn't every day he was asked this question.
"Sure, where to?" he asked, trying to act like he wasn't nervous.

Amy glanced at Jake for a moment then smiled.

"Well maybe we'll wait on that one." she said. She thought for a second, then looked back up.

"Do you know how to dance?" she asked him.

Jake nodded halfheartedly. It was true he had some experience with dancing, but he hadn't really gone much further than his mandatory classes in high school physical education.
"Yeah, a little. Just some ballroom and linedancing that I learned in school."

OOC: sorry for not posting sooner ^_^;

Amy nodded, and smiled. She was definitely impressed to hear that he knew some older styles. These days dances like those were pushed aside for more 'grunge' dancing. She shrugged her shoulders.

"It's good that you know some older dance styles. Not many do these days." she said as she stood up.

"Well how bout we dance a little?" she asked him as she went and chose some music to play. After the music started off softly, she waited for him to stand up.

(OOC: No worries. I just managed to get back online myself.)
Jake got up nervously. "Sure. Um..."
He pushed up his glasses and searched his mind for any knowlege he had retained from those classes. He only managed to remember one dance; the Foxtrot. It had been his least favorite, but somehow that was the only one he had held on to.
He tentatively approached Amy, taking one of her hands in his and put the other on her back, just below her shoulderblade. He got in line with the music, stepping foreward with his right foot, then with his left, and turning. His movements were a bit clumsy since he hadn't danced for years, but it was more enjoyable now that he was doing so of his own accord...sort of.
