By all definitions, it was a typical day in Yavin 4's Jedi Academy. The terror the war had wrought upon the Galaxy was melting away, but alas, the atrocities committed during it and the sheer devastation was still on the minds of many. However, as they were the Vanguard of the Galaxy, the Jedi had no choice but to move on.

Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, the most powerful and venerable member of the New Jedi Order apparently had pressing business on the Galactic capital, Coruscant. He bid a temporary farewell to his students and subordinates before leaving to help repair a shattered Galaxy, confident that when he returned he would find the students as powerful and confident as ever.

Jairania Orgunna, a beautiful Jedi Guardian did not Skywalker's departure effect her spartan training that she undertook almost everyday. In fact, it intensified even further, as the young woman wanted to impress the Grandmaster with an even more powerful knowledge of battle and the Force than she had before his departure.

She was sweating heavily as she used a training saber to battle a swarm of training droids in one of the large, open-area training rooms in the Academy. Her long, outer robe had been discarded to allow her better maneuverability as she trained.

She only hoped the other students wold adhere to the same standards. More specifically, her standards...

Kino Djo watched as Grand Master Skywalker left for Coruscant. He himself had never been there. He hadn't been too many places, he realized. Still, where he had been had taught him much. The Witches of Dathomir hadn't immediately taken to the training of the Jedi, but some of the children were now sent to train with the Grand Master. That was one reason Kino was there. He watched Jairania train for a while, then started in on his own training. Most of his training was acrobatics, but he also trained with the lightsaber. In fact, he could often be seen doing both at the same time, swinging the saber in one hand as he does handstands, flips, and somersaults. To an outsider, it looked dramatic, but to a child of Dathomir, it was natural.

Lyk'ka was among the crowd to watch Grand Master Skywalker depart for the capital, and was kind of sad to see him go. She was always a little sad when Master Skywalker left the academy for whatever reason. To Lyk'ka, he was a hero, for it was he who felt that she was strong in the force. It was Master Skywalker who convinced the slavers to set her free. It was Master Skywalker who convinced the other Council Memebers to let her parttake in the Jedi training. If it wasn't for Master Skywalker, she would probly been sold to a Hutt as a slave. Master Skywalker was her inspiration. Even though she wasn't the best student and tend to make lots of mistakes, she always tried her bes. She wanted to become a powerfull Jedi like him one day.

Lyk'ka walked through the acdamey halls a still feeling a little sad even after a couple of hours after Master Skywalker's departure. She knew she shouldn't be drepressed with his departure, but she couldn't help it. Hardly any of the Masters would give her a chance, and would be harder to stay motivated with Grand Master gone. Lyk'ka decided best if she went to her room for the rest of the day for she didn't feel much like training.

Jemnai hadnt gone to the departure of the Temples first master and the orders first Grand Master. He was in his quarter's relaxing after his trainning in the jungle. He still wasnt sure who he really was. His past was a mystery even to the Masters of the Order but they over looked his age since most of the Jedi were here since they were children he was in his yearly twenties but they couldnt believe his talent with the force and how he had such a command of it.

"There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force."

Legs folded beneath him in a comfortable kneel, a few errant strands hair criss-crossing his face, Delken calmly repeated the ancient Code of the Jedi to himself.

He was in one of the temple's many training rooms, secluded from all outside influences. He had been in sensory deprivation training for the past several hours, the stone walls of the chamber effectively cutting him off from all stimuli.

It was in this state that he was able to commune with the Force.

He preferred this manner of training. The physical training was important, crucial even as it honed the connection between body and mind yet Delken had always enjoyed these moments of simple reflection. He could feel his mind expand through the galaxy, the Force appearing like a vast ocean of light that he could almost touch yet was always just out of reach.

His eyes fluttered back open with a deep cleansing breath. Rising to his feet he pushed the hair out of his face, his lightsaber rising up from the stone floor into his open palm. A simple gesture of his hand opened the door and he walked out into the temple's hallways towards the sparring grounds.

Ambrosia went to the deaprture for Master Skywalker. It was he who had agreed to her place here.
She remeber that day well. It was not that long ago. barely 2 moons (months). He had seen how well she had used the force with in her for controling articles around her. Then he had asked her father about lightlaber training and her father had blushed. His words were still clear in her mind, "we were not sure if she was using the force or something else. Plus we feared if it was the force that it was evil. We did aquire this for her, along with proper robes." Then he had opened a case, Ambrosia had glanced at it for a mere moment then turn her head back to Master Skywalker and with her mind had called for the divise. It came to her but not as smoothly as other things.

She was still trying to get the light saber to be as smooth as other things. She worked out hard. Knowing now the importance of the lightsaber to jedi.

After the departure she went to one of the small training rooms and practiced.

Her control over every area of the force except for the light saber was growing fast. She knew not why this piece was so hard for her but she would not stop.

Her fathers matial arts type training was good it kept her calm. But there were still moment when her light saber upset her.

Two Zeltron girls watched Kino train as they sat on a bench off to the side, whispering and giggling among themselves, clearly amazed at his display of acrobatics and swordplay. Jairania, how ever, was not impressed. As the training droids booted down and prepared the next phase, she simply shook her head at him.

"You do know you're supposed to be a Jedi, night a circus performer, right?"

“Ezekiel 25:17.”

”What?” I reply to the holographic image projected by the ancient holocron artifact.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/Solace001/Deep%20Space%20Haven/Haven%20Wars/mace/sith4.jpg
"Ezekiel 25:17,” the apparition before me insists.

“I’m sorry – I don’t understand… What?”

"Say WHAT one more time, motherfucka -- I dare you! I double dog dare you!"
The holocron's image glowers at me threateningly and places me in immediate apprehension of a harmful and offensive touching -- with/by a PINK lightsaber. At this point, I simply say nothing and let it/him continue. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyrannies of evil men.

Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepards the weak through the valley of darkness.

For he is truly his brothers' keeper and finder of lost children.

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

And you will know I am the lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”

“That, motherfucka, is Ezekiel 25:17,” the holocron says with GREAT emphasis.

"I believe you,” I reply with a barely audible whisper. I think I’m scared that a holocron image might kill me -- with its pink lightsaber.

”Now, I've been saying that sh!t for years, and if you've ever heard it, it meant your @$$.

I never gave much thought to what it meant, I just thought it was a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfu cker before I saber-shanked his @$$.

But I saw some sh!t this morning that made me think twice.

Now I'm thinking it could mean you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man.

And Mr. Electrum Lightsaber here is the shepherd, protecting my righteous @$$.”

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/Solace001/Deep%20Space%20Haven/Haven%20Wars/mace/mace_saber.gif
”Or maybe it means that you're the righteous man, and I'm the shepherd, and it's the world that's evil and selfish.

Now I'd like that, but you see that sh!t ain't the truth.

The truth is, YOU'RE the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men.

But I'm trying, Kooh-Yah. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.”

Right about this time, I’m convinced that I simply don’t like this holocron’s teaching methods. But for some reason, I’m not about to tell it to its face.

“Er, yes, sir,” I stutter. "I’ll keep working on my lightsaber skills, Sir.”

((OOC: Aside from finding your post a little strange and very amusing, I have but one problem. Ezekiel 25:17 is a biblical passage, and I don't think it would make sense for a holocron to have knowledge of it. Maybe something similar, yes, but not the exact same thing.))

OOC: i could swear i've seen that post somewhere before..now where was it..oh yeah, it was the movie Pulp Fiction << >>

IC: Kino shook his head, then sighed, landing on his feet and shutting down his saber. "This is the way my people have always trained. One cannot fight evil if one is standing still. It's a sure way to die, after all." He stretched, and used the force to cool himself down, unconsciously whispering the words to the spell. He still hadn't quite gotten to doing healing abilities without words, but he was getting there.

"I must disagree"

Delken spoke softly, as he always did in a voice like dry leaves, his words carried and amplified with a simple Force technique. Emerging from the shadowed corridors, he stepped foreword his hands resting comfortably in the wide sleeves of his robes.

The Jedi Knight smiled warmly. Kino was one of the most talented saber duelist he'd encountered but if there was one thing the young apprentice lacked, it was subtly.

"Your movements are erratic, difficult to predict and quite fun to watch but ultimately you're wasting energy and only prolonging a conflict."

Approaching Kino, Delken let his robes fall open slightly, giving him a bit more freedom to move. Making no move to draw his saber the Knight regarded Jairania with the slightest of bows before stepping in front of Kino.

"Remember what Master Solusar instructs, have 'No immovable roots and no stirring of dust at your feet'"

Igniting his sapphire blue blade with a snap-hiss he smiled again, "Forgive me. It is not my place to lecture or instruct. Perhaps you'd indulge me in a practice duel Kino?"

Jairania commanded the droids to pause their training program when she heard the challenge. She shut down her own lightsaber and clipped it on her belt, backing off the training mat, looking to both Delken and Kino.

"Don't met me interfere."

Kino raised an eyebrow, then shrugged, and bowed. He straightend up again, and held his lightsaber loosely in one hand. While it did occur to him that it was probably a bad idea for them to duel, he admitted he could use the practice. He ignited the saber, closing his eyes, and shutting out everything else. Only the Force was let in, to amplify the senses he was taught to use.

I Wanna Watch

((OOC: It was a corrupted holocron. Sorry, my humour and my mood at the time of writing was... wierd.))

HOURS of ridiculously exhausting and demanding training finally come to an end when the holocron fizzles and dies in a puff of smoke and a few choice profane expletives usually reserved for Hutt slavers and roleplaying God-Modders.

I collapse in a sweaty heap, sucking air into my lungs and wishing for nothing more than a painless death to end my agony. I can just imagine that the pain in my entire body will be much worse tomorrow, but right now, I'd rather just not think about it.

My ears perk up when I hear someone challenge another Jedi student to a duel. I thought we weren't allowed to do that anymore -- especially after that one time when some teenaged kid accidentally ignited his lightsaber before taking it off his belt, and unintentionally changed his religion.

I scrape myself off the cold (yet soothing) stone floor, to see if I can witness students duelling with each other.

Delken returned the bow. Saber duels were inherently dangerous endeavors as a wrong move or miscalculation could result in serious injury or death, however it was nonetheless important to practice not just with practice droids.

His robes fell to the mats without a sound as Delken raised his saber to eye level and shifted his weight. Moving his center of gravity towards his back foot, he widened his stance and drew feet apart, settling into a low comfortable position. His shoulder rolled back, brining the blade parallel to his face with the tip of the hissing electric blue blade angeled directly towards Kino.

Emptying his weight from his front leg, Delken slide foreword closing some of the distance between the two duelists. Kino's eyes fell closed for a moment as he called on the Force. Delken snapped his hand foreword, index and middle finger extended from his palm, directing a telekinetic push at the Dathomirian Jedi's feet, sweeping his legs out from underneath him.

Kino grinned emotionlessly, having expected something like that, and used the Force to flip up, landing on one hand, using the other to bring the lightsaber up so that the blade was extended forward again, before flipping again onto his feet. The blade had been rotated in his hand as he did the flip, so that throughout the maneuver(sp?) the blade had remained in the exact same position relative to the ground.

Delken watched Kino's flip with a curious expression. Kino was deliberately not engaging, relying more on his Force assisted agility to evade Delken's advances. It was a solid enough tactic but it did nothing to improve his situation, and that little maneuver would cost more energy then a simple push.

Dropping his weight, Delken vaulted upwards sailing overhead Kino in a wide, spinning arc. Powering down his saber, he tucked his body into a tight roll, guiding his fall. His saber ignited once again the moment his feet touched the mat aiming a single thrusting jab at Kino's torso.

Kino dropped to the ground, spinning with a kick to the legs, and using his saber to parry the jab at the same time. It was a classic maneuver of the Dathomiri, even without a lightsaber. Usually, however, it was carried out with a Forcepike or other longhandled weapon. As he parried the jab, he rolled backwards, coming back up with the blade facing up again, still held in one hand. "It actually uses less energy than it looks like it would."

Ambrosia always knew when something out of the ordinary was going on close by. Especially when it invovled one of her fellow students. It caused a odd feeling to go up the back of her neck.

She had learned that odd things were often great taechers.

So she powered down her light labor and when to see what has cuased the quiver, as she felt it, in the force.

She saw a duel. These were always intersting. So she stood queitly. The few of these she had seen she had learned much from both parties.

Delken winced slightly, raising his shin to check the kick. The impact stung through his thigh but he managed to divert the blow from striking a major nerve cluster. Exhaling he allowed the Force to calm the nerves, the pain fading away quickly.

Nodding Delken stepped foreword again. Keeping a stable two-handed grip, he brought the hilt in line with his torso aiming the tip towards Kino's head. The Jedi from Dathomir seemed content with evading, rather then engaging directly. Once again he had not improved his positioning, and done nothing to end the duel. Delken was forced to wonder what would happen if he forced Kino to expend more energy evading before he was forced to plant his feet and defend himself. Delken preferred to work within what Master Solusar called the Inner and Middle Rings, keeping his blade close to minimize energy expended and also protecting all vital areas. In theory, strength and range were both sacrificed in favor of an almost impenetrable defense. This presented a problem when both duelists were of a decidedly defensive style.

The Jedi's vibrant emerald eyes watched Kino for another moment. Straightening up, Delken extinguished his saber, returning the weapon to it's place on his belt. Regarding Kino with a smile he bowed his head again, "That'll be sufficient Kino. Thank you...it was enlightening."

Delken was satisfied. It hadn't been the workout he had intended, in fact neither Jedi had even broken a sweat, but there didn't seem to be any point in continuing. Kino had a key tactical error in holding his saber the way he did. The one handed grip didn't provide enough control over the saber to prevent the Sun djem disarming technique. A telekinetic pull would take the weapon out of his hand, leaving him vulnerable to a critical strike.

Calling the robe up from the ground with the Force, he turned back to Kino, "But you worry me with what you said earlier Kino. The Jedi do not exist to destroy evil, or punish the wicked but to preserve order and protect those who cannot protect themselves." His head bowed again, "It is not my place to lecture however. Please excuse me, May the Force be with you"

Moving to leave he turned towards Jairania, "Jedi Orgunna, when you finish your exercises would you come find me please? There is something I wanted to ask you"

She raised an Inquistive eyebrow when she heard her request, he turned to him. "Actually, I am finished right now if you need me."

After spenting about half the day sulking, Lyk'ka finaly decides to leave her room and decided to try cheer herself up. She attached her lightsaber to her belt and trudged to the acadamey libary to brush up on some of the basic princples, but after a couple hours of studing, she didn't feel any better. She decided to walk around some more to try to lift her spirits when she happened to pass the training and sparing area where she saw several people training. She decided to just watch from the doorway, knowing her skils weren't up to par with her fellow padwans.

Angelus had seen Skywalker off with most of the other students, but he honestly didn't think much of it. With Skywalker gone it just meant that he had a bit more freedom around the temple to goof off. As he walked around the training grounds, he had found a few pieces of fruit and was juggling them, using the Force to keep them in the air for longer periods of time than was normal. Coming across the dual, he stopped juggling the fruit and instead watched for a moment, smiling as the two combatants seemed to go at each other qith incredible speeds. If he hadn't seen this numerous times before, Angelus would have been quite impressed with the two fighters. Seeing the fight break up, he shrugged slightly, not sure what to do with himself now that his entertainment had ceased. He noticed a few of the other students watching the fight and smiled at them as they passed by. Letting out a sigh, he began to juggle the fruit once again, whistling a little tune as he focused to keep them in the air.

Delken canted his head, indicating that she should follow him. Folding his hands into his robes, he moved away from the training area and out into the vibrancy of the jungles of Yavin 4.

It was easy to see why Grand Master Skywalker had chosen this place for his academy. The Force was so strong here that you could almost taste it in the air, like the charge of static before a thunderstorm. The Grand Master had often asked them if it was the Force that made this place so alive, or was it the life that made the Force so strong? As with many of his questions, the Grand Master gave no indication to the answer.

Delken didn't speak a word until they were fairly deep into the jungle, surrounded on all sides by the sounds and smells of Yavin 4.

"Jairania, I have always admired your skill and dedication to the Jedi Order, which is why I wanted to ask you this...Do you think what we're doing here on Yavin is right? I believe in the Jedi and in Master Skywalker completely and to serve in his order is the greatest honor I could hope for, but when I look at this jungle I wonder if what we do is the true will of the Force"

Turning his head he indicated a Tyraxia spider who had ensnared a small rodent in it's razor sharp web while the hapless creature struggled in vain to free itself.

"If we intervened, if we saved that creature then it wouldn't need to save itself. It wouldn't become any stronger, wouldn't grow, wouldn't evolve. Isn't the same when we intervene in other matters in the galaxy?"

I make it to the sparring area just in time to catch the end of the friendly duel. It looks like both men used the Ataru style of lightsaber combat, or at least, it seems to me that was what they mostly used...

I noticed a tall, beautiful Twi'lek woman watching by the doorway, standing alone.

I cautiously made my way over to stand next to her, and whispered, "Hello. You're... Lyk'ka, right? Sorry, I don't get out much... I'm Kooh-Yah...."

I nod towards the combatants, hoping to make some friendly conversation.

"It looks like I missed something interesting and out of the ordinary, eh?"
