It's the end of Highschool. A nerd finally tells the girl he not likes but loves how he feels. She rejects him. He bottles it up. Telling himself it's okay.

growing up he was that guy, she could count on. She was that helpfull volunteering involved school newspaper, girl next door beauty.

She goes off to northwestern for journalism. By hard work and a lot more luck, he gets into Westpoint, to become a army officer.

She comes to his house over the summer, to hang. When his mom tells her he's already at Westpoint doing basic training as required before the college year starts. She is angry at him. She never thought he was seriouse about Westpoint. She thought he was going to Northwestern with her.

She writes him telling him how pissed she is sending him emails too. She believes that he's doing this to get back at her, or because of her, he ignores her.

7 years later they run into each other in Iran. Days after taking Tehran. He's a company commander having been promoted a year early. And she's a imbedded reporter for CNN.

She confronts him. He rebuffs her. He's so different to her, such a force of will, strong in voice and presence. She breaks down telling him how she felt about him after he left. They have sex in his office. Just before there position is hit.

They venture out together in unknown Iran with a special company blah blah blah

Actually I think there is a possibility here...

I'm not really into the military stuff but it still sounds like it could be a good story. I do have a few suggestions;

He was planning on going to Northwestern with her but her rejection hit him harder than she knew so he changed his vocation to West Point. She still had no idea until he answered her emails by saying what do you care.

I also believe they would be in Iraq or Afghanistan; what would he be doing in Iran?

Also, it's a big coincidence for them to meet that way; how about she tracks him down and convinces her boss to send her there?

Thank you.

- I like the first suggestion. West-point was him saying "enough, enough I need to live my life not hers." she influenced him doing it but soon he loves the army and puts his soul into it like he did with her.

-Yeah not picking a current Mideast war was me being creative and lazy. If someone else writes it feel free to pick a mideast war. An Iran war which doesn't exist allows for creativity without heavy research. Future tense new weapons etc.

-He ignores her for 7 years, he never responds to her emails. I mean who ever writes this can change that. How about he writes a response to some of her emails. but never sends them. Visiting him she finds the unsent mail.

-Her asking her boss for the assignment to operation manifest destiny, adds an element of romance. Yes.

As I said...

I think there's a good premise for a story here, but I'm not really into military stories. I am currently writing an erotic novel and have three more short stories in my queue, so as you can see, I'm not available to write anything else for a while.

I do hope someone picks this up though...the idea is sound.

Thanks, it's a romantic idea. The star Pulitzer winning news anchor and and the up and coming hero Military officer.

It sounds like a great idea! unfortunately, too much research right now. I have other WIPS. I hope someone picks it up to write it. I would love to read something like this.

Research I know. I spend most of my time researching, stories. I might do this story.
I would need an army expert, to help.
I know a tiny bit. That's kind a why I went with Iran. So fiction can win out as fact.
The thought of creating a fictional Mideast nation came to mind.
