Me too. There are times I couldn't tell you what I was doing a week ago, but I can tell you ALMOST everything about 12 years ago today.

Agreed, I know exactly what I was doing. Both for today and the Oklahoma one.

My brother's in NYC today...moment shared.

Thoughts to you all from across the pond :rose:

To me the most powerful words of today are...

"Are you guys ready? Let's roll!"

That's how Todd Beamer lived.

A dear friend of mine won a Tony in 2001 and we decided to go to NYC and visit him and see a show on Broadway for our anniversary. We arrived 10 days after 9/11 and I was heartbroken to see the devastation.

Another friend worked on Wall Street at the time and she told me the story of how she had to walk from her office to New Jersey for safe harbor. There was a shoe store on the way and they were handing out running shoes to anyone in need mostly the ladies who wore heels to work.

My mother has called me at work only twice in my life in my decades of working - the first time to tell me my father had passed away and the second time to make sure I was OK on 9/11.

My nephew is in the military and was one of the first responders at the Pentagon.

I won't ever forget.

However, we have sacrificed a lot since that day 12 years ago. Our children's lives for example. How many have died in the War on Terror? How many have been maimed for life? And how much money has not been given to the VA? Drone attacks on civilians. I cringe every time I fly because of the security process. Americans are allegedly spying on Americans. I am as devastated by all of that as I am by the attacks on our soil.
