"A mind like a steel trap"

Exactly what does that mean?

That you have a perpetual headache from trying to absorb facts.

Ask Hanns, he's got a great example of a bear-trap mind.

It could be an old version of this one..

"A mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work well unless it's open!"

I imagine that it refers to a quick mind with a strong grasp. That's how I've always understood the phrase.

Do I detect a bit of 'Klingon' in the traquil one?:)

Ahh, that makes sense now.......

Once you "grasp" an idea or concept, you don't let go of it.

Well, every now and then I do get headaches but I'd have to say my mind is more like a block of Swiss Cheese. Things go in one hole and things fall out another. Sometimes, something pops out that I haven't "seen" in ages.

I noticed this habit I have with phone numbers. It's like I have a Rolodex in my head. I can only remember a certain number of numbers. If a new "card" comes in, I have to get rid of an old one to make room for it. Maybe I should consult the queen of numbers - MercyMia about this malady.
