Putting this in feedback because it seems more "readers" come here as opposed to other forums.

It was point out to me a couple of days ago by a reader here who also has purchased some of my e-books from Smashwords, that I had surpassed the 50 e-book mark. It hadn't dawned me as to how many titles I had and a quick check came out to 52 (I think its 40 or so on amazon as some things can't go there)

That kind of hit me because when I started writing 4 years ago it was just dirty little scenes for my wife and I to play out during role plays. I ended up out of work for a couple of weeks after having to have a minor surgery and while bored took a couple of those scenes and fleshed them into full stories.

I did that for a year and when my wife found literotica she convinced me to try posting it to see what people thought. Actually her oh, so supportive words were "its no worse than a lot of stuff I've seen there"

So in May 2010 I published Almost perfect, then a foot fetish story and finally getting the nerve to do it, posted the first chapter of my epic SWB series.

One thing led to another and I'm the type that can never just do something causally. I'm obsessive/compulsive and writing became the latest "thing" to challenge myself with.

Lit led to Smashwords and other sites and although not retiring off it, I make some money at it and best of all, its still fun.

This would not have happened without the readers here. Of course Lit itself deserves a thanks as well for providing the platform for us to be here, but as many know I have a lot of issues with the way the site is run(or not run, to be more clear)

But its the readers comments and feedback(good and bad) that at times kept me going-especially with SWB-and was the reason I thought I was good enough at it to keep pursuing bigger better things.

So just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to the readers here who have supported me and even those who trashed me as that is a motivational tool for me as well.

So to my fans as well as my trolls and detractors, thanks for keeping me going.

All I can say is that if I posted anything like this to the forum you'd be all over me about self-promotion. You're living proof that someone can be blind even if they are two faced.

Back when you were attacking me continually about putting snippets from reviews of my e-books in my sig line (but not attacking all those putting cover images in their sig lines), I remember telling you that just as soon as you had something to promote, you'd be doing it gangbusters here. Guess I was right about that, heh?

On the promotion, congrats--because I'm not the one who here who objects to doing what is standard publishing PR.

If I hadn't known you'd attack me for it, I might have posted something here when my e-book title holdings went over 100. ;)

Speaking of detractors!

As for promotion, I fail to see it as such without a link to where someone can buy my work. If I had included a link to my SW or amazon pages you would have had a good point.

But I didn't and most readers here don't even know my SW pen name and even fewer either of my 2 Amazon names.

Going further I haven't bothered posting anything on the pretty much useless vanity thread "authors and their books" so I don;t see where I push my "wares" here. In fact I don't even have my lit link in my sig.

As for your promotion? I lose track of things from time to time, but fairly certain I hassle you about your gaudy sig because you hassle others.

But that is neither here nor there. This post was a sincere thank you with no ulterior motives (such as a "Hey, as a thank you here is a coupon!")

And congrats on your 100+ I know that takes a lot of work.

More of your swiftboating bullshit. I've never criticized anyone but one over-the-top political crazy about their sig lines. And that was about anger and graphic violence, not writing. Have to make it up, don't you?

I've supported promoting one's works here, and I've supported you doing so, too. If you haven't taken advantage of the Web site's promotional support, that's your problem. Until you had something to support, you raked me over the coals for doing just what this Web site supports in terms of publishing self-promotion (and gave a pass for anyone else doing it. It was only me you attacked. So, it didn't really have anything to do with promoting one's work--beyond jealousy).

You're just running a two-faced hate campaign. You're a sick fuck, LC.

Interesting. I didn't know the history behind your writing. If a writer can use Lit as a platform for an income stream, I say go for it. You writing a story for the Halloween contest?

Hi LV

Nope. I only enter if I am eligible to win.

I know a lot of people don;t care about that, but I never enter anything that has no chance of taking home anything.

Besides Halloween is sacred to me, I avoid making light of it with my dirty stories and anything I would write "for real" would not be well received here.

Think Abigail on a bad day;)

Congratulations!

Congratulations to any and all who have success! I thought that is what this site was for sharing stories and learning the craft. Enjoying what you do. That in itself is success is it not? Cheers to all of those who have not only made themselves happy by sharing their stories with others, made those read their stories happy by letting them enjoy what was shared, but also by making a bit of money.

Congratulations. That is quite an impressive output for a little more than three years of writing. Wish I could be as prolific.
