Lesbian isn't a category that I read extensively, but yes, I would be more likely to read a girly love story written by a woman; I wouldn't dismiss a story written by a man out of hand, but I would be more likely to think (without reading it) that it was going to be some male fantasy of girl-on-girl.

I know when I was in the swing of reading more, most lesbian stories written by males were painfully obvious in many aspects, most of which I found to be a turn-off. So, I typically entertained those I presumed were written by women first, but I didn't necessarily write off those I presumed were written by men. Hell, at the very least, it was an entertaining vantage point.

That said, I have enjoyed a few lesbian category stories written by men and wouldn't discount them right away, as some of them were well written in all aspects I deem important.

I think the best answer is Shang. He/she/it/undisclosed can wirte anything he turns a hoof to. I'd read it no matter what the cat. In that case, the gender of the author is immateiral. I know it's going to be excellently writen and engrossing, even if I don't appreciate all aspects of the "good" parts.

Men, who write pure les erotica tend to write scenarios that are less than complete. It often reads like a porno movie vingette.

Some women write the same kind of stories.

I think some good male authors will tell you they feel they are getting giged because of their pumbing in the cat. I tend to agree. If you go with china doll, I think you'll face less of that.
