A mad site for biblical apologists

The more I have been reading that site, the madder it becomes

That site should be a mandatory part of every kid's education.

Even the dunces would then see through the whole of religion as a sham !

Question: The context of this verse is immediately after Adam had sinned. "And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
10And he said, "I heard the sound of Thee in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself,"
(Gen. 3:8-10).

Does this mean that God didn't know something?

Answer: Not at all. Someone can easily ask a question to which they know the answer. Usually, the reason to do that is to point something out or teach something. Obviously, Adam and Eve had sinned. God asked,"Adam where are you?" Where was Adam? He was hiding from God. Adam's sin had destroyed his fellowship with the Lord. God knew this and He was pointing it out to Adam. It is a question we need to ask of ourselves? Where am I? Am I in fellowship with God or in rebellion against Him?

-----------------

I believe I can add to this. God ALSO knew that Adam was behind the big tree by the barn, but wanted Adam to invent the word "Ollie-ollie-oxenfree", and was simply helping out.

DCL's quote (from the site) is a perfect example of the sort of drivel it contains.

Fucking entertaining drivel though !

I'll have to try and dig out the Jehovah's Witness site for you all some time !

Todd must know some biblical joke that he is not letting us heathens in on.

That's a great site. I love how they explain that since God told Moses to paint blood on everyone's door it's okay to ring doorbells at 7am.

A biblical Joke, a shocking reality one in same, smae in the one.

To quote Star Trek the Next Generation:

Shakra and the walls fell, timber is arms wide open, his eyes open closed.

I remember that episode. Those were the people that spoke only in metaphors and analogies. But I don't think you have the quote quiet right.

I think I fixed it.

Holy Bible - Sgs 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love [is] strong as death; jealousy [is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of fire, [which hath a] most vehement flame.

Yup you got it right I was working from an old memory.

Now all you need to do is figure it out and you will be in on the humour of it all.

sshhh don't tell todd.

Why am I rolling my eyes? Because I have seen such behavior so many times before it is no longer funny. Somebody comes up with something they think will shock and embaress a Christian, and then, like a gossiping teenager, shares it with all their friends as if this is something new and exciting.

Sheesh guys - get with the times; apologetics has been around for centuries and is taught in many modern churches, not to mention seminaries (one of which, IIRC, Todd has been to). Even a Christian such as myself (poorly educated in religion) has Archer's "Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties" on my bookshelf.

Look a little closer at the website; it is a nonprofit Christian ministry intended to help Christians and non-Christians understand the Bible better. Nothing new there - if anything it bolsters the Christian viewpoint by showing that Christians are aware of of the problems and conflicts in the Bible. What a revolutionary concept!

OH please. I know todd knows all this stuff. You took a one line joke agianst someone who knows I have respect for his religion because I straight out told him that I did and blew it up into three paragraph dissertation.

Just some notes to clear up a problem here.

First, belief in the Bible does not equal "whole of religion", inasfar as the Bible is not the only religious text in existence.

Second, belief in the Bible does not equal any religion in particular as at least a dozen different denominations use the Bible, and those are the ones I can think of right off the top of my head.

Third, belief in the Bible does not equal any adherence to a particular denomination. It is quite possible to be a Bible believer without belonging to any religion at all.

I know you're being funny, but don't bash what you don't understand. ;)

This site looks like a primer for Sunday School teachers.

Where's the answers to the really juicy stuff?

~Were there flying saucers present at the crucifixion?

~What happened to Jesus' twin brother, Thomas?

~Why did Peter hate Jesus' wife, Mary of Bethany (Magdalen), so much? Was Peter a poofter?

~What happened to Jesus after he "died" (nudge, nudge; wink, wink) on the cross? Did he go retire with Mary and the kids in the south of France, or did he hide out in Egypt?

~What happened to Jesus and Mary's kids?

Well excuuuse me for not being privy to your private joke!

I guess I should not be surprised that people who can't seem to respond with more than one or two lines think that three paragraphs is a dissertation.

Look, I just get rather tired of all of the very obvious Christian bashing going on around here. Sure there are some very ignorant, bigoted, loud mouth Christians out there - some of them are close relatives. But there are also some very ignorant, bigoted, loud mouth agnostics, atheists, Moslems, Jews, Hindus, etc. - out there. It just seems that Christians have the corner on the market because there are more Christians than anybody other "market segment".

As I said, there is nothing new and earth shattering about this website, and nothing funny either.
