A little help, if you got time.

OKay people, I have been working on a new website. A new and bigger website than the little one I have listed here.
Now, if you got time, I would really appreciate if you could give me some input on the layout and the such.

The site is far from finished, and is still under massive construction. But still, at this point I'd like to know if I have completely missed the target.

Saw it. Two things. Nitpickey really. The background color makes it hard to read, or I'm getting old. Also, are all of your links working? I could only get two or three working. Just curious.

Prior comments seem to be from your friends. I don't want to appear unfriendly but I am just a dis-interested surfer who saw your 'Help me' msg and tried to do that.

Took too long to load - didn't have the time to waste. I'll wait for graphics IF I want to see them.

It is my understanding that one of the basics of web design is Open-up quickly and try to get the punter to stay.

Looked good to me. Opened fine for me, it wasn't slow at all.

I had a look...

I find my self agreeing with GUS on the pics.

The slowest things to load are the pics and gifs. The doubled "hand jpg" could either be reduced for a single pic or removed to a different page.


They are running at a monster size (93,000 bites), have a look at either Photoshop or Photoimpact type programs, and try to get any individual picture down to a Max of about 30,000 bites. Take a sample into one of these and play around with it. If you have to vary the image size and quality to get it down don't worry, just have a play and see what you can do.

Set it centrally in the space on the page, then pull it out to the size you want. This should keep the load times for any image to a minimum.

Some of the other points I agree with are dont over shoot on the index page. Neat and tidy and quick loading work better than slow loading and messy, (Btw I dont think yours is messy).

But even taking all my coments above, and all the others as well I will say that the important thing is to have fun.
So as long as it is fun to keep tweeking, then keep tweeking.

Okay, I admit that there isn't much right now, and there's still one link not working. But There's a reason for that.

Just clicked on your site,and would like to say that it looks alright to me.

The yellow print on black BG makes for easy reading.

And I didn't have any trouble loading your page.Just a second or two per click.

I am fooling around with getting a web page started.All I have right now is a scrap book started to store things that I find on the net,for future use.
