Okay, I need to send someone a file, but I don't know how to attach it to the message I'm sending. It's a Word file, and I'm pretty sure it's 8000 plus words will break the limit if I just post the words in the PM.

Can anyone help me?

Sorry, QC. I don't think you can do attachments on PMs. I'm pretty sure you'll have to get an e-mail addy.

Figures. When I tried that "this member requested no e-mails" or whatever the hell, deal.

I guess I'll PM him again and tell him I don't know how to send it. Maybe he'll give me another e-mail addy.

Thanx anyway, min.

You might try sending multiple pms- putting half the story in one pm, and the other half in another. I've done that when I didn't want someone to have an email address for whatever reason. Also, I'm lazy about checking email.

You could also use instant messenger programs if you have any. They almost all have a file transfer option.

The best way to send a Word file is to use E-mail and e-mail attachment. (especially if you're loking for an editor to return it wit corrections)

An alternative is to C&P the text into a PM, preview the PM, and mark where the size limit of the PM form cut it off. Then send a second PM with whatever wasn't included in the first -- and a third if required.
