A Life Once Wished For

So I have been absent from CHYOO for a while. I was disappointed to see so little action on my stories while I was gone. However, I wasn't completely slacking off. I was working on my first full length story over on stories online. However, my slow writing and the issue described in my blog excerpt below have pulled me back in (I was gonna come back anyway).

I'm So Dead

So my free time finally came around. I spent all week working on chapter 3, even got a few bits of chapter 4 started while I was on a roll. I'm editing it, it's all looking good, I'm so going to follow through on my promise to post by this weekend... and then my screen goes blank and a horrible grinding sound came from my computer. The sound of my hard drives platters smashing into the disk heads.

Yes, chapter 3 has been destroyed. Fortunately, the HD that went was not my system disc (thank you paranoid usage of 4 250GB HDs instead on 1 1TB one). Unfortunately the last backup to my drobo was before I started writing chapter 3. The part of chapter 4 I had written is safe (it was on a thumb drive from when I was working on it on my laptop). That grinding sound killed my writing streak, though.

After all that, and keeping in mind that I posted chapter 2 in march, I have decided to parallel write the story in real time over on CHYOO, and then compile my full chapters and post them as they are completed rather than having them sit on my computer for months on end. Which is full circle since it was writing here that gave me the inspiration to try to write this in the first place.

I hope you like it. Also, this is CHYOO, so I look forward to seeing what ideas you have for the story too. Don't worry, I won't run off with any without asking.

Are any Mods around? Is something going on? It's been over a week since I submitted this story for approval.

Seriously, is something wrong? It been almost three weeks and still nothing on the approval of this story. I understand there is a backlog, but what is happening?
