A Life on the Line {Closed thread for C Graven and myself}
Caitlyn Warren jogged quickly toward her dorm room on the beautiful tree-lined college campus, where she was happily going about her Freshman year. She could still hardly believe she was here, and taking art and theatre classes! All the hard work she'd done in school was now paying off, with the scholarship she had earned, allowing her to make her dreams of the future come true. The only thing wrong with her life at the moment, was that she was a bit lonely. She had always been shy, except on stage, and although she was a beauty, with her silvery blond hair and emerald eyes, she had been so pretty and talented, the boys in her school had always been afraid to approach her, certain she was already dating someone. She went through high school with only a couple of dates, and virtually no sexual experience at all. She was still very innocent and naive, and her roomate often laughed at her naivete, although not in a mean way. She simply liked to tease Caitlyn, because she was so sweet.
Caitlyn hurried up the stairs to the comfortable room, and went to shower before her next class. She had just finished her phys ed class, and hated going to her theatre group without freshening up, especially when she had a couple of hours in between her classes that day. The warm water felt good cascading down her lithe body, and she stretched and sighed with pleasure. Stepping out of the shower, she dried off and reapplied just a touch of makeup, accenting her wide eyes. She slipped into a summery off-the-shoulder sundress, and glanced at herself in the mirror, fairly pleased with her appearance. She was 19 years old, and her figure was quite good, and well -proportioned for her height of 5'4". The cinched waist of the dress showed off her figure nicely, without being lewd. She was just about to take a book and go relax in the shade for a bit before class when the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Kitty Cat?"
"Jerry, is that you?" Her brother was the only one who ever called her by the pet name. He didn't sound quite like himself, however.
"Yep, it's me, Princess. How are you?"
"Fine. Everything is going well, but I miss you..."
"I miss you, too, Sis. In fact, so much, that I'd like to take you to dinner tonight, if you don't have plans..."
"Oh, that would be great, but it's kind of a long drive for you..."
"Nah, I'm already about half-way there. I'll see you tonight around 6, ok?"
"Sure. Love you, Big Brother."
"You too, Princess."
Smiling, Caitlyn hung up the phone. How she adored her older brother. True, he was not always the man he should be, and she had managed to turn out fine despite his influence. Their parents had died in a car accident several years before, and he had been her guardian ever since then. She would do anything in the world for Jerry. She knew he loved her, even though he didn't show it very well. He was too interested in his own life, and that was one reason she was pleasantly surprised he was coming to see her. It wasn't like him to go out of his way for her, but that was alright. She didn't mind. She just hoped that nothing was wrong, as he had not sounded like himself at all. Trying to put it out of her mind for the moment, she took her book and went to find her favorite spot to sit and read before class.
Jerry arrived a bit late that night, but Caitlyn didn't mind. She was just glad to see him, and gave him a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. She noticed he looked a bit disheveled and worse for wear, and his smile was strained. He seemed very distracted as he asked her where they should go. "Make it someplace we can talk, Kitty Cat."
Nodding, she suggested a quiet pub a few blocks away and he drove them there, seeming even more distracted. After they had seated themselves, and ordered, she watched him. Now that they were alone, he seemed to be very anxious about something. She reached out and touched his hand, making him glance at her. "Jerry....what's wrong? You're acting very strange tonight."
"I need to talk to you about something, Little Sister, and it's very important that you listen closely. I need your help."
Caitlyn sat and waited to see what Jerry was going to have to say to her.
